Senior Director, Global Commercial Logistics, Transportation, Trade Compliance

• Lead supply chain strategy to align warehouse, transport, and trade functions • Own global budgets for freight, warehousing, and customs brokerage, ensuring disciplined cost management and optimization of spend • Establish department KPIs regarding delivery on time metrics, cost per mile, and compliance • Oversee and optimize global transportation networks across ocean, air, rail, and ground • Lead contract negotiations with major freight carriers, third-party logistics (3PLs), and brokers • Drive digital transformation through implementation and optimization of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) • Lead and enforce global trade compliance programs, including import/export regulations, sanctions screening, and tariff/classification management • Serve as primary liaison to customs agencies and regulatory bodies worldwide • Build and lead a high-performing global team; set direction, develop talent, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement • Lead Commercial supply chain functions such as new product launches & global expansion • Partner with Commercial organization, Finance, Tax and Manufacturing to maintain and improve Logistics processes • Lead cross functional projects and process improvements related to drug transportation and trade compliance • Establish and maintain global standard operating procedures (SOPs) to drive consistency, scalability, and compliance.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or similar
- 12+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain required
- Master’s degree and 8+ years of progressive experience in Supply Chain preferably within the biotech, pharmaceutical, CRO, industry
- 5+ years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Advanced expertise in GTM systems, TMS architecture, and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP)
