Role Description The Payroll Coordinator ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of Joby Aviation's employee and payroll records. In this role, you will balance rigorous data auditing with manual record maintenance, keeping our payroll systems running smoothly, scalable, and fully audit-ready. Responsibilities - Support the Payroll team by performing various tasks to establish and maintain employee and payroll records, including but not limited to: - Auditing timekeeping records for compliance - Entering new hires into payroll system - Processing terminations in accordance with final pay requirements - Supporting SOX audit preparation and documentation - Performing payroll audits and data validation activities - Proactively identify discrepancies, missing information, and potential payroll issues; research available resources and documentation to resolve them or escalate as appropriate. - Assist with maintaining payroll procedures, documentation, and audit-ready records. - Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve data quality, and enhance payroll controls. - Provide administrative support, reporting, data entry, and special project assistance as needed. Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent plus five or more years of experience supporting payroll, accounting, HR, or administrative operations - Experience with accurate data entry and supporting audit activities - Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy - Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and proactively identify and resolve issues - Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities - Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office tools (Sheets/Excel, Docs/Word) - Ability to work effectively across multiple teams and departments - Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity, ethics, and professionalism Requirements - Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $21-$35/hr. - The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
