Senior Transmission Line Engineer

• Routing and design of transmission lines utilizing the Power Line Systems software suite including PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and TOWER. • QA/QC of PLS-CADD model and job packages before external submittals. • Structure analysis and foundation design, job package creation, developing design criteria and specifications, specification and procurement of materials, project cost estimating, and quality control reviews. • Construction support and direct interaction with construction crews. • Will prepare drawings and documentation for construction of transmission line projects. • Providing leadership, guidance, instruction, and training to less experienced staff members. • Regularly meets and corresponds with clients or other external stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- 2+ Years of progressive overhead transmission engineering experience.
- Technically proficient to QA/QC a wide variety of T-Line project submittals before packages are sent to clients.
- S. degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Experience with Civil/Structural Transmission Line disciplines (Steel Pole Design, Foundation Design.)
- Tower Design w/ PLS-TOWER not required, but a plus.
- Experience in 12kV to 500kV line design and working knowledge and/or expertise in Power Line Systems software suite (i.e., PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, TOWER, etc.) required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification is a plus, or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of start date.

• Travel to sites to work as a member of the local team to provide efficient repair / installation support to all accounts within assigned area. • Installs, operates, maintains, repairs, and modifies equipment on designated equipment. • Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. • Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. • Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimal time. • Support future product integrations by performing upgrades and or configuration updates to existing and future imaging/navigation equipment. • Lead and participate in product technical repair and clinical use training with domestic, international and 3rd party staff members. • Provide testing and validation support to the manufacturer’s organization, as applicable. • Keeping accurate records of discussions or correspondence with customers including all assigned complaints, follow-up actions, root cause analysis and final resolution within the complaint tracking system.
• Embed customer supportability requirements into the earliest stages of the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC) by participating in design reviews and technical planning with R&D. • Analyze support data and customer feedback to construct evidence-based business cases that influence R&D to prioritize certain improvements. • Provide specifications for proactive product features (such as clearer error messages and diagnostic tools) to reduce friction and deflect potential support tickets. • Orchestrate the Global Ops readiness strategy for new features, ensuring Frontline Support and Ops teams are equipped with the necessary training, documentation, and tooling prior to launch. • Collaborate with R&D to translate complex customer use cases into actionable requirements that ensure long-term product health.
