Role Description Sprezzatura is seeking an experienced Product Lead to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) in advancing the VA Design System and VA Forms Library. This role will lead product strategy, backlog management, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional coordination to ensure delivery of consistent, accessible, scalable, and user-centered digital experiences for Veterans and their families. The Product Lead will serve as the bridge between VA stakeholders, design, engineering, accessibility, and operations teams to translate priorities into actionable delivery plans, drive modernization initiatives, and improve platform adoption and satisfaction across Veteran-facing digital services. Responsibilities - Product Planning & Delivery Support: - Support execution of VA-prioritized backlog items for the VA Design System and VA Forms Library. - Facilitate backlog refinement, requirements clarification, and work item planning in coordination with VA stakeholders and delivery teams. - Support planning and refinement activities that inform Agile delivery execution. - Coordinate execution activities across cross-functional teams to support timely delivery of approved work. - Support requirements definition, solution planning, and delivery coordination for product enhancements and modernization efforts. - Stakeholder Coordination & Governance Support: - Coordinate with VA Product Owners, OCTO stakeholders, Veteran-Facing Services teams, designers, engineers, accessibility specialists, and platform teams to support delivery objectives. - Support prioritization discussions, backlog reviews, governance activities, and product planning sessions based on VA direction. - Manage intake and coordination of experimental requests, component enhancements, pattern improvements, and platform support needs. - Support efforts to improve governance guidance, reduce recurring staging review issues, and improve design and implementation consistency. - Communicate delivery progress, risks, dependencies, blockers, and status updates to leadership and stakeholders. - User Experience, Accessibility & Platform Improvement: - Support initiatives that improve consistency, usability, accessibility, and scalability across VA digital platforms. - Coordinate efforts to address prioritized user experience and accessibility issues. - Support efforts to identify and close design gaps through stakeholder collaboration, research-informed planning, and solution refinement. - Partner with cross-functional teams to improve adoption and reuse of design system components, patterns, templates, and design tokens. - Support initiatives aimed at improving platform satisfaction, developer efficiency, and overall product usability. - Operational Sustainment & Forms Support: - Support operational sustainment and enhancement activities for Design System and Forms Library capabilities. - Coordinate issue triage, work prioritization, and execution planning for support and sustainment activities. - Support online forms modernization efforts, including alignment of digitized forms with authoritative source systems and evolving VA priorities. - Coordinate knowledge transfer, documentation, continuity planning, and transition support activities as directed. - Support change communication activities related to product updates impacting VFS teams, platform teams, and OCTO stakeholders. - Reporting & Continuous Improvement: - Support monthly health reporting, status reporting, and progress communications aligned to contractual deliverables. - Analyze stakeholder feedback, satisfaction survey findings, operational trends, and delivery insights to inform improvement recommendations. - Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, stakeholder experience, and product support processes. - Support risk identification, dependency tracking, issue escalation, and mitigation planning. Qualifications - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Product Management, Human-Centered Design, or related scientific/technical discipline required. - Degree substitution: 8 years of additional relevant experience may substitute for education. - Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience supporting digital product delivery, platform modernization, enterprise application support, or product/program coordination. - Minimum 5 years supporting product planning, backlog management, stakeholder coordination, or Agile delivery execution. - Experience working across cross-functional technical, design, accessibility, and business stakeholder teams. - Experience supporting enterprise digital platforms, shared technology services, or large-scale application ecosystems. - Experience supporting requirements gathering, backlog refinement, prioritization support, and delivery coordination. - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level stakeholder communication. - Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced delivery environment. Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting VA or other federal civilian agencies. - Familiarity with VA.gov platform operations, DevSecOps, SRE practices, cloud environments, or digital services delivery. - Experience supporting organizational transitions, onboarding efforts, or knowledge transfer initiatives. - Experience coordinating across product, engineering, operations, and executive leadership teams in highly visible environments. Working Conditions - Standard business hours are Monday through Friday. Occasional extended or weekend hours may be required based on operational needs. - Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting. - Periodic travel may be required based on program needs and customer requirements.
