Job Description

Controls Automation Sales Estimator

Conti LLC

• Identify, pursue, and develop new customer relationships in the Detroit and Maumee markets • Meet with clients, attend site visits, and represent Conti LLC at customer dinners and industry events • Serve as the primary point of contact through the full sales cycle from initial outreach through project award • Maintain organized, professional follow-up and communication—written and verbal • Build long-term relationships with owners, engineers, facility managers, and general contractors • Generate quotes and proposals for controls automation projects ranging from smaller one-off service work up to $20M+ large-scale projects • Perform material takeoffs and scope reviews using Bluebeam and Excel-based estimating templates • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents accurately • Collaborate with the internal team to ensure estimates reflect scope, budget, and project requirements • Maintain clear paper trails and documentation throughout the estimating and proposal process

Job Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in controls automation, HVAC, building automation, or a related field—estimating experience is strongly preferred
  • Background in controls, automation, or manufacturing environments is highly relevant
  • Proficient in Bluebeam and Excel; ability to work within provided estimating templates
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction documents, and specifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills—this role requires polished, professional client-facing interaction as well as the ability to produce well-organized written correspondence and proposals
  • Self-motivated and able to manage a remote work schedule with accountability and independence
  • Comfortable working across a diverse project portfolio including data centers, commercial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, municipalities, and mixed-use
  • Bringing an existing book of business is a plus but is not required
