Job Description
Pre-Chart Specialist
Teamficient
Role Description We're looking for a licensed physician to take on a remote, documentation-focused role supporting a busy medical practice. The attending physician sees patients and they need a fellow doctor who can handle the heavy lifting of pre-charting, chart review, and visit documentation so they can stay focused on patient care. This is not a clinical practice role. You won't be diagnosing, treating, or making independent medical decisions. Think of it as high-level medical administration that requires a physician's eye—someone who knows what to look for, knows what matters, and can turn a full medical history into a clean, concise summary without missing a thing. Core Responsibilities - Pre-Charting and Chart Review - Review incoming patient records ahead of appointments, including medical history, prior visit notes, lab results, imaging, and procedure documentation. - Prepare thorough pre-visit summaries that give the physician a clear picture of the patient before they walk in the door. - Flag anything in the patient's history that warrants the physician's attention. - Medical Documentation and Scribing - Transcribe and document physicians' notes accurately and in accordance with the physicians' preferred styles and formats. - Organize and maintain complete, well-structured patient charts that meet accuracy, completeness, and compliance standards. - Summary Preparation - Synthesize complex medical histories, test results, and specialist notes into clear, concise summaries for the physician. - Support chart preparation for follow-up visits, referrals, and procedure reviews across a high volume of patient files. Qualifications - Active medical license as an MD/DO with a background in General Practice or Gastroenterology. - 3 to 5 years of clinical experience post-residency. - Ability to process and synthesize large volumes of medical information quickly and accurately. - Strong written English communication skills. - Ability to independently follow structured documentation workflows. Requirements - Experience working in high-volume outpatient or clinical settings. - Familiarity with EHR/EMR platforms such as Epic, Athenahealth, or similar systems. - Background in remote or asynchronous medical documentation roles. Benefits - Work Without Borders: Collaborate daily with experts from around the world. - Built for Remote: A fully remote culture designed for autonomy, flexibility, and trust. - Diverse Perspectives: Be part of a multicultural team where different backgrounds are our greatest strength. - Grow Globally: Expand your career on a global stage, learning how business works across different cultures and continents.
