Role Description We are looking for a Clinical Governance Officer to join the Clinical Governance team on a temporary secondment. This will last 6 months, and is a full-time role. Role Objective: - The Clinical Governance Officer is a key member of the clinical team, involved in reporting, data collation, safeguarding, clinical governance, and training. - Collaborating closely with the leadership team, the focus is on delivering high-quality clinical support, safeguarding services, and fostering relationships with external partners. - The role encompasses audits, policy development, and intervention for staff support. Split of the role: - Clinical Governance - 50% - Safeguarding - 20% - Stakeholder Management - 10% - Training - 10% - Analytics, Reporting and Insights - 5% - Management & Leadership - 5% Main responsibilities: - Assist the Clinical & Safeguarding Team in all procedural, policy, and administrative duties. - Champion safeguarding, excellence in clinical work, clinical training, and welfare across Kooth, sharing best practice and ensuring that Kooth policy is enacted in practice. - Support staff working directly with users, including some focus on our f2f teams. - Support the clinical audit and review process, providing feedback to workers from clinical audit cycles and ensuring any concerns identified are appropriately escalated and acted on. - Provide specialist advice and support to staff working in our services, including support for complex cases online, responding to daily clinical and safeguarding requests from workers, and being a robust point of contact and liaison for our f2f services. - Contributing to development of (and facilitation of) specific projects and working groups as agreed with the Head of your department. - Identify and report to the Head of department, any practice areas or systems which place Kooth at risk of not fulfilling their clinical or safeguarding duties and obligations. - Participate in On-Call responsibilities out of office hours (experience dependent). - Support with activities related to quality improvement and quality assurance, both within the clinical team and cross-functionally. - Maintain accurate, detailed and up to date records and in-house documentation, managing these in accordance with the Data Protection Act. - Ensure all record keeping and any transfer of records is done within GDPR requirements and legislation. - Provide support to ensure that clinical policies and procedures are in place. Stakeholder Management: - Support Head of Clinical Governance with commissioner requests and contractual requirements, pulling from various resources, databases, systems, and workers. - Attend briefings/meetings to represent the clinical team and Head of department where appropriate. - Respond to requests for access to records and/or data, liaising internally and externally to provide these within policy. Training: - Support the development and facilitation of our robust clinical training programme, including staff inductions. Analysis, Reporting & Insights: - Ensure that all reporting, including case studies for stakeholders and local authorities, demonstrate robust clinical and safeguarding procedures and processes. - Act as a point of contact in arranging for requests for any data relating to clinical governance (such as narrative, case study, or examples of interventions). Qualifications - Professional qualification in a relevant field (psychology, nursing, social work, counselling) - Professional registration with relevant body - Minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience with children, young people and vulnerable adults in one or more clinical areas. - Trained to a minimum of L3 Safeguarding. Requirements - Experience undertaking investigations following serious incidents or similar. - Demonstrable high level knowledge of research design and methodology and keenness to be involved in ongoing research as part of regular role.
