Role Description The American University of Iraq, Baghdad (AUIB) invites applications for Adjunct Faculty positions in the College of Engineering. Adjunct faculty are responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses in their area of expertise, ensuring high-quality instruction, student engagement, and academic excellence. - Teach assigned courses in engineering disciplines (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or related fields). - Develop and deliver course materials, including lectures, assignments, projects, and exams, aligned with the approved curriculum. - Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success. - Maintain appropriate office hours and provide academic support and guidance to students. - Assess and evaluate student performance fairly and in a timely manner. - Collaborate with department faculty and administration to ensure program quality and continuous improvement. - Stay current in the field of engineering and incorporate relevant advancements into teaching. - Adhere to university policies, procedures, and academic standards. Qualifications - Master’s degree in Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution (Ph.D. preferred). - Demonstrated expertise in the subject matter and a record of effective teaching or professional practice. - Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. - Commitment to excellence in teaching and student learning. - Experience with innovative and technology-enhanced teaching methods is a plus. Requirements - This is a part-time, semester-based appointment. - Teaching assignments may include daytime, evening, or weekend classes, depending on departmental needs. - Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
