Job Description

Senior Payroll Specialist – Workday

Corporate Relations — IIT Delhi

• Process data entry for multi-state payroll within the Workday payroll system while meeting strict deadlines and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws • Process both on and off-cycle payrolls, including on-demand payments • Coordinate with external vendors on state and local filings and ensure accurate payroll processing for biweekly payrolls • Review payroll inputs from various internal sources to ensure accuracy for each pay period • Assist employees with online changes to tax withholdings and direct deposit information • Maintain payroll records and generate reports as needed for audits and internal reviews • Support the implementation of payroll system enhancements and process improvements • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll-related issues and inquiries

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing
  • Must have thorough working knowledge and experience within the Workday payroll system
  • Solid understanding of labor compliance laws
  • Understand federal, state, and local payroll taxes as well as reciprocity agreements
  • Tax filing and year-end processing experience
  • Strong MS-Office skills with ability to generate reports for audits and internal reviews
  • Accurate and timely with strong attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem-solver with experience initiating process improvement
  • BS Degree in Accounting preferred
