Senior Specialist, IT Business Analyst – Global Trade Operations

• Collaborate with global trade teams, IT teams, and external partners to gather and document business requirements. • Analyze current processes and systems to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications. • Design IT solutions to support global trade operations, including customs compliance, import/export processes, and trade finance. • Ensure solutions align with business goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. • Assist in the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects related to global trade. • Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clear communication and alignment. • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and discussions to gather input and validate solutions. • Ensure IT solutions comply with international trade regulations and standards. • Identify potential risks and work with teams to develop mitigation strategies. • Develop and execute test plans to ensure IT solutions meet business requirements and quality standards. • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and resolve issues as needed. • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend innovative solutions. • Create detailed documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and user guides. • Provide regular updates to stakeholders and senior management on project status, risks, and issues.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in IT business analysis
  • Hands-on experience supporting global trade operations within an IT context
  • Experience working with ERP systems and global trade management software
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies
  • Familiarity with global trade systems such as Descartes OCR EASE or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of data analysis, reporting tools, and process modeling
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Understanding of international trade regulations, customs compliance, and import/export processes.
  • PMP, CBAP, ITIL, or other relevant certifications are a plus
  • Familiarity with trade finance, supply chain operations, and logistics processes
  • Experience with data integration, APIs, and system interfaces
  • Knowledge of automation tools and technologies
