Specialized Business Intelligence Analyst

Role Description As an integral member of the Analytics Team, the Specialized Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is responsible for creating information-based, business intelligence deliverables that will be relied upon by organizational leaders to support critical business decisions. The Specialized BI Analyst will provide domain expertise in one or more specific areas, such as: - Clinical - Consumer experience - Finance - Human resources - Marketing - Medical insurance - Operational effectiveness - Supply chain This position will primarily work with customers across the organization in clinical, administrative and/or operational areas to provide analytical insights from reports and/or dashboard visualizations to facilitate discovery of new opportunities and support data-informed decision-making. The Specialized BI Analyst will be tasked with: - Domain-specific requests to support transformation of data and information into actionable insights. - Communicating insights and opportunities to leadership. - Understanding and defining the problems being solved. - Procuring and integrating the data sources necessary to analyze needs appropriately. - Delivering appropriate relevant tools to meet customer objectives. - Implementing and supporting solutions for ongoing utilization. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science, management information systems, data science, business administration, statistics, or related field or equivalent experience required. - Master’s degree preferred. - Associate Certified Analytics Professional (aCAP) or another vendor-neutral analytics certification preferred. - Applicable certification or accreditation for domain expertise preferred. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years professional experience providing similar analytics services for this role to one or more domain areas. - Minimum of 2 years professional experience collaborating with customers on the design, creation and execution of analytics deliverables. - Minimum of 2 years professional experience in building self-service analytic reports, dashboards and/or tools supporting decision-making. - Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic, matrixed organization with executive exposure. - Basic proficiency with the following tools: - MS Office Suite: Excel (Pivot tables, VBA, Macros), Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access (Required) - Database querying: SQL - Visualization tools – Tableau (preferred), Sisense, Qlik or Microsoft PowerBI - Statistical tools - R, Python, SAS, SPSS or other statistical tools for data analysis (Preferred) - Demonstrated critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills. - Ability to visualize data in a meaningful way. - Exceptional time management skills and attention to detail. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team under established deadlines. - Strong customer service, interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Principal Accountabilities - Develops, prioritizes and executes projects according to established schedules and timeframes. - Follows and enforces technical and documentation standards. - Demonstrates in-depth knowledge and techniques in supporting other systems and application programmers in projects. - Uses scripting tools & ServiceNow functionality to create scripts and automate tasks. - Builds Quality Assurance Scripts for Patch and Upgrade testing. - Performs regular data audits and resolves identified issues. - Maintains and supports ServiceNow operational functions. - Escalates to vendor and involves them in defect and incident resolution as required. - Stays current on technologies that are required for this development. - Participates in Agile Scrum process that is leveraged as the team's SDLC. - Develops and implements enterprise IT tools to support an IT managed service delivery approach. - Focuses on continual service improvement to increase efficiency and cost optimization of services. - Develops, defines, and documents systems management policies, processes, procedures, and drives implementation. - Performs user administration on enterprise management supporting technologies. - Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues. - Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards. - Models Memorial Hermann’s service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues. - Other duties as assigned.
