Senior Manager, Hardware Engineer
Acuity
• Lead development of controller and display platforms. • Build and mentor a high-performing hardware engineering team. • Ensure successful development of new products from concept through production introduction. • Manage progress, risks, schedules, and deliverables. • Oversee hardware/firmware testing and apply APQP methodologies. • Communicate development status and risk mitigation plans to senior leadership.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electronic or computer engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in hardware engineering leadership/management and 5+ years developing complex electronic devices.
- Embedded systems, MCU/MPU architectures, displays, switch-mode power supplies.
- Full mastery of the development lifecycle (design reviews, EVT/DVT/PVT).
- Human-centered leadership, excellent verbal and written communication, strong analytical skills, and ability to manage shifting priorities.
- Knowledge of HVAC and automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus).
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Lead the full lifecycle of complex multi-layer PCB design (from initial technical specifications to mass production release) with minimum board design cycles. • Develop schematics design for CPUs, high-performance Marvell packet processors, and system-on-chip (SoC) architectures. • Design and integrate high-speed digital interfaces: SerDes, PCI-e, Ethernet, DDR2/3/4, and MII/GMII. • Manage service and management interfaces including I2C, SMI, and SPI. • Design and calculate robust power circuitry, including high-efficiency DC/DC converters and Power Integrity (PI) management. • Provide layout support and strict guidelines for PCB Layout Designers, ensuring top-tier Signal Integrity (SI). • Conduct laboratory bring-up, hardware debugging, validation, and testing using professional equipment (Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Power Analyzers).

Our team is a foundational partner across CHG—driving innovation, advancing design reliability, and enabling scalable hardware solutions that power Cisco’s most critical products. Cisco Hardware Engineers develop and work with Next Generation Technology to build Cisco Hardware products keeping in mind the user experience and in accordance with IEEE standards, and industry best practices. Your Impact: - Help shape next-generation package, board, and system technologies by driving advanced simulation, experimental validation, and cross-functional optimization. - Work closely with Silicon Design, Supply Chain, and Electrical Design teams. - Contribute to reliability, performance, and manufacturability across programs. - Support long-term technology roadmaps and industry leadership. - Develop and apply novel simulation and experimental methods to enable and optimize advanced hardware technologies. - Design and execute DOEs/test vehicles and computational analyses to establish design guidelines and optimize material, geometry, and architecture. - Evaluate tradeoffs across performance, reliability, and manufacturability using modeling and analysis. - Collaborate with academia and industry partners; contribute to standards bodies, conferences, IP development, and peer-reviewed publications.
