Role Description The HR Operations Generalist owns and supports key Human Resources operations across a fast-paced, multi-state workforce. This role is responsible for leading the end-to-end onboarding process, coordinating employee lifecycle activities, supporting benefits and leave administration, maintaining HR data and records, coordinating HR programs, and providing manager and employee guidance. The HR Operations Generalist interprets established benefits, leave, compliance, and policy requirements; owns assigned HR operational processes; identifies opportunities for improvement; and makes practical recommendations that support efficient, consistent, accurate, and compliant HR service delivery. Key Responsibilities - Employee Lifecycle Operations - Own the end-to-end onboarding process for hourly and salaried employees, including process execution, documentation, orientation support, system setup, required training, I-9 completion, payroll coordination, cross-functional follow-up, and recommendations to improve the new hire experience and onboarding effectiveness. - Own employee lifecycle transactions and related HRIS updates to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely processing of promotions, transfers, compensation updates, reporting changes, status changes, and organizational updates. - Lead offboarding processes for departing employees, including separation documentation, system updates, compliance considerations, and coordination with HR, Payroll, IT, and other internal stakeholders. - Support workforce transitions, contractor conversions, and organizational changes by coordinating cross-functional activity, identifying process or compliance considerations, and recommending improvements that support accurate documentation, clear communication, and timely follow-up. - Benefits, Leave & Employee Support - Administer benefits enrollments, changes, terminations, carrier updates, and related employee support through Dayforce and applicable vendor platforms. - Interpret and apply established leave-of-absence, accommodation, and related policy requirements while maintaining documentation, system updates, vendor coordination, employee follow-up, and issue escalation as appropriate. - Serve as a knowledgeable resource for employees and managers on benefits, leave programs, HR processes, and policy application; provide guidance within established company practices and identify matters requiring escalation to the appropriate HR partner. - Reconcile benefits invoices, assist with vendor issue resolution, and support wellness and employee support programs. - HR Programs, Compliance & Cross-Functional Coordination - Coordinate performance review cycles, employee engagement activities, recognition programs, HR communications, and other HR programs through planning, tracking, communication, and completion follow-up. - Interpret and monitor compliance, safety, and role-based training requirements in partnership with the training manager; identify gaps, recommend follow-up actions, and help ensure timely completion of outstanding items. - Support company audits and maintain current compliance notices, employee acknowledgments, personnel files, employment verifications, and related records. - Partner with Talent Acquisition, Payroll, IT, HRIS, business leaders, and other internal stakeholders to own assigned HR operational processes, maintain data accuracy, resolve issues, and recommend improvements related to reporting, employee lifecycle events, compliance, process efficiency, and workforce transitions. - HR Service Delivery & Process Documentation - Monitor HR inbox inquiries, HR-related company mail, employee requests, and routine follow-up to ensure timely, accurate, and professional responses. - Provide managers and employees with HR process and policy guidance related to onboarding, offboarding, leave administration, performance cycles, organizational changes, workforce transitions, and standard HR procedures. - Identify complex employee relations, performance, leadership, compliance, or policy matters and route them to the appropriate HR partner for review and resolution. - Maintain and improve organizational charts, HR resources, templates, process documentation, and operational tools; recommend updates that strengthen consistency, compliance, accuracy, and HR service delivery. Qualifications - 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, HR Administrator, or HR Operations role with exposure to multiple HR functions. - Experience using HRIS systems to process employee data changes, support reporting, and administer HR transactions; Dayforce experience strongly preferred. - Working knowledge of onboarding, benefits, leave administration, employee records, compliance tracking, HR operational processes, and related policy requirements. - Ability to interpret established HR policies and program requirements, exercise sound judgment, and make practical recommendations related to process, compliance, and employee lifecycle matters. - Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 tools. - Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment. Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting hourly, distributed, multi-state, or operations-based workforces. - Exposure to leave administration, benefits vendor platforms, compliance requirements, employee communications, or HR program implementation. - Experience owning HR process improvement, workforce transition support, or systems-based HR operations, including identifying issues and recommending practical solutions.
