• Contribute to the development of technical risk engineering guidelines, bulletins, processes, and tools. • Maintain current industry knowledge of losses and research of new technologies and emerging risks. • Assist with complex technical property questions and plan reviews. • Conduct research for technical issues where there is limited or no industry guidance • Lead training and development within risk engineering, underwriting, and external clients and organizations. • Manage training enrollment and participation records. • Manage the training and technical guideline libraries. • Work in conjunction with Head of Technical Services and Risk Engineering Managers to support development of systems and process efficiencies. • Maintain and provide oversight of the development of risk engineering tools. • Participate in external technical and industry groups (NFPA, CFPS, etc.)
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent industry knowledge
- Minimum fifteen (15) years of highly protected risk, specialized industry and/or boiler and machinery field experience
- Knowledge of a wide range of commercial property occupancies, including light hazard and heavy industrial occupancies
- Strong communication skills-both oral and written
- Ability/willingness to travel to client and account meetings as well as technical conferences on occasion as requested.
- Soft Skills: Highly motivated and works well without close supervision.
- Hard Skills: Professional Engineer, Certified Fire Protection Specialist Designation, or similar (desired but not required)
