Role Description The Accountant position analyzes and reports on financial data to help the business run efficiently. This position will process business transactions including accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers, and receipts. This position requires advanced knowledge in GAAP and works independently to interpret or make deductions from varying facts or circumstances. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and has no direct reports. - Reliable attendance and punctuality. - Participate in key areas of the monthly financial close to ensure timely and accurate reporting on financial results. - Prepare journal entries, reconcile various balance sheet and general ledger accounts. - Assist employees, vendors, clients, and/or customers by answering questions related to accounts, procedures, and services. - Responsible for accounting functions that are part of an efficient month-end closing process, including reporting. - Properly store and manage financial data. - Regularly review bookkeeping for accuracy, provide reporting as necessary for audits. - Review and update accounting processes and procedures as needed. - Make financial recommendations. - Collaborate with accounting team as necessary. - Maintain confidential and secure storage of important financial information. - Ensure all bookkeeping is accurate and adheres to state and federal law. - Complete ad hoc projects and generate monthly reports as assigned. - Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
