Role Description Accountant I, Accounting - GLSS Global Bank Reconciliation will report directly to the GLSS Manager, Accounting. Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that cash financial transactions are properly recorded, and bank reconciliations are performed and provide timely resolutions to reconciling items. He/She will also be responsible for process improvement within the assigned processes. - Performs daily analysis of WD cash accounts transactions against bank ledgers, and drives timely recording of transactions in the ledger. - Prepares accurate Cash accounts reconciliations compliant with SOX requirements, and ensure timely closure of open/reconciling items. - Monitors accuracy of cash ledger information and investigates issues, performs root cause analysis and propose resolution. - Analyzes the payment and receipt process for timely recording of transactions to ensure there are no open items. - Prepares journal entries related to short term investments, interest income/expense, bank charges, and inter-bank transfers. - Works with cross functional teams' representatives to identify open items and clear unidentified transactions in a timely manner. - Review business process and be able to identify and initiate continuous improvement initiatives. - Works with peers and cross-functional representatives to drive continuous process improvement that would yield productivity efficiencies, improved quality of output, enhanced controls and compliance, and increase customers satisfaction. - Ensure that processes are compliant with the global standards and SOX controls. - Meet or exceed targets as pre-determined on the performance scorecard. - Collaborate and maintain strong business engagement with other verticals like core GL, Controllership, Finance, Tax, Employee expenses, Accounts payable and Accounts receivable teams. - Provides audit support to both internal and external auditors as required. - Performs any other function as may be delegated by immediate lead (supervisor). Qualifications - Self-motivated with previous experience in a shared services accounting. - Attention to detail and a structured methodical approach. - Knowledge of accounting processes such as AP, AR, Fixed Asset, Intercompany, Account Reconciliations and General Ledger. - Maturity and ability to work on own initiative in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality of work. - Effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. - Good team player with collaboration skills with other cross-functional teams. - Graduate of B.S. Accountancy is required. - Minimum 3 years experience in Accounting and at least 1-2 years experience in Bank Reconciliation, preferably within the Shared Services accounting industry. - Strong analytical skills. - Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal. - Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet timelines on deliverables. Requirements - Amenable to work on flexible hours, US & PH holidays and extended hours during month-end. - Capable of working at home temporarily.
