Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), Juris Doctor (J.D.), or equivalent law degree
- Admission to practice law in at least one relevant jurisdiction
- 8+ years in a senior legal role within an international corporate environment
- Strong experience in commercial matters, M&A, employment, corporate compliance, corporate governance, and litigation management
- Extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements
- Proven track record of managing complex legal matters and advising senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement legal strategies aligned with business objectives
- Training in UK law would be considered an asset

Role Description This role can either be based in our Delhi, Bangalore, Pune offices or remotely in India. The Managing Counsel, APAC will be responsible for a wide range of legal matters with a focus on corporate governance and commercial matters. Familiarity or experience as a generalist dealing with labor and employment laws, dispute resolution, entity level-compliance(s), and other corporate governance legal matters a plus. The Managing Counsel, APAC will report to AlphaSense’s SVP of Legal based out of the United States but will partner with all levels and functions of the business, including Sales, People, Security, Procurement, and others, to help AlphaSense achieve its high-growth goals. This role is essential to our growth and will have an immediate impact in our dynamic, fast-paced culture. Qualifications - Fully qualified lawyer and admitted to practice law in India; - Minimum of 6+ years’ experience with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial customer and vendor agreements and advising on corporate governance related matters for our Indian entities either in-house or with a nationally recognized law firm (or a combination of the two); - Ability to review and negotiate wide range of commercial contracts including Master Services Agreements, Services Agreements, SOWs, Service Level Agreements, Orders Forms, NDAs; etc.; - Experience with providing day-to-day legal support to cross-functional stakeholders, including Sales, Procurement, Finance, HR, and leadership teams; - Strong knowledge of Indian employment and labour laws, including advising stakeholders on labour code compliance, workforce related matters, disciplinary actions, and HR policies; - Ability to deliver practical, risk-based legal advice on general corporate, regulatory, compliance and operational matters while balancing business objectives and legal risk; - Experience managing, developing and coaching team members; - Superior business acumen with an unrivaled commitment and deep-seated need to provide responsive service to our teams and get things done; - Energetic, authentic, and friendly with a great sense of humor; capable of displaying strong negotiation skills and the ability to support difficult positions in a firm and patient manner; - Effective communicator with the ability to interact with both internal and external professionals of all types and backgrounds; - Experience with training, contract management systems, and data privacy a plus.
