Role Description We are looking for a Senior Manager, M&A Tax / US Income Tax Planning to join our tax team. You will report to our Head of Global Tax Advisory and will help manage Block's global M&A, Investments, Federal and State income tax planning, Treasury Services, Income/Direct Tax Controversy and Post-Closing Integration/Compliance activities. - Lead Block’s global M&A, investments, and post-closing integration/compliance activities. - Partner with internal teams, tax colleagues, and external advisors on the tax aspects of acquisitions, dispositions, investments, structuring, and integration. Ensure tax planning and technical matters are accurately reflected in tax filings. - Perform tax modeling and quantitative analyses (e.g., Sections 382/383, stock basis, and transaction-related calculations). - Research complex tax issues, advise cross-functional stakeholders (HR, Treasury, Legal, Corporate Development, Accounting), and prepare technical tax memoranda supporting filing positions and planning strategies. - Manage income tax audits from planning and IDR responses through resolution. - Support special tax projects, including new product reviews, Treasury and Capital Markets initiatives, and state income tax planning. Qualifications - 5+ years of relevant experience in M&A tax, including complex federal income tax planning and tax research experience at a Big Four accounting firm, law firm, or a large multinational corporate environment. - Knowledge of US federal income tax (e.g., subchapter C and consolidated return regulations). - Excellent tax research skills. - Experience working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. - Project management skills and an enjoyment for working on multiple projects with ownership of your function. - A hands-on willingness to accept challenging projects outside areas of experience or comfort. Requirements - Fundamental working knowledge of all non-income based federal, state and local, US international, and foreign tax regimes. - Experience with taxation of cryptocurrencies, financial products and tax information reporting. - Experience with Treasury-led initiatives, such as capital market transactions, global cash pooling and intercompany lending. - Experience managing Federal, state and local income tax audits and other tax controversies. - CPA/MS Taxation or JD/LLM in Tax. Role Description Tax Manager is responsible for providing tax support to the VetStrategy Group of Companies. This exciting role is offered to remote candidates who are legally authorized to work in Canada and currently reside in Canada. The Tax Manager will support corporate and indirect tax reporting, compliance, documentation, planning, and audit activities across a multi-entity structure, including intercompany and transfer pricing matters.
