Job Description
Sales Manager
Jam
Role Description We’re looking for a Director of Sales & AI-Powered Growth - someone who can close deals and also architect the systems that generate them. This is a player-coach role: you’ll carry your own book of business while managing a small team of experienced reps and leading our push into AI-driven outbound and lead generation. You’ll report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer and have real influence over how JAM+ scales its commercial operation. - Sell - Develop and close new business with B2B buyers across office supply, print, packaging, and adjacent verticals. - Build and maintain relationships with key accounts and distribution partners. - Collaborate with the CRO to set revenue targets and own your number. - Lead the Team - Provide strategic leadership, coaching, and performance management for a sales team with varying levels of tenure and experience to achieve collective revenue targets. - Run regular pipeline reviews, support deal strategy, and help the team evolve their approach alongside new tools and tactics. - Foster a culture that respects deep industry knowledge while embracing new ways of working. - Build the AI-Powered Outbound Engine - Own the full buildout and operation of Apollo.io - sequences, targeting, list strategy, inbox management, and deliverability. - Use AI tools to identify, prioritize, and personalize outreach at scale. - Define lead scoring, segmentation, and ICP criteria for our core product lines. - Track, measure, and iterate relentlessly - open rates, reply rates, conversion rates, pipeline contribution. - Stay current on AI sales tools and bring forward recommendations for what we should adopt next. Qualifications - 5+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in manufacturing, wholesale, print, packaging, or office products - or strong evidence you can pick up a tangible goods category fast. - Demonstrated experience setting up and running outbound tools - Apollo, Outreach, Instantly, Clay, or similar. - Strong fluency with AI tools in a sales context - you use ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, or similar to write sequences, research prospects, and personalize at scale, and you’re excited to build processes that compound that leverage. - Proven track record of hitting quota and closing - not just building pipeline. - Experience managing or mentoring other sales reps. - Entrepreneurial and self-directed - motivated by outcomes, comfortable with ambiguity, built to move fast. - Excellent written communication - your sequences need to convert. Nice to Have - Experience building internal tools, automations, or dashboards that increase team leverage. - Background in selling into national retailers, office distributors, or commercial print buyers. - Experience with CRM administration and pipeline reporting in HubSpot or Salesforce. Benefits - Competitive base salary and commission structure - Comprehensive health care coverage - Company retirement plan participation - Employee discounts on all company products
