Role Description This role is responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for first-party Homeowners claims. Determines coverage, evaluates damages, and adjusts and negotiates claims within assigned authority. Partners with internal resources as needed, including subrogation and fraud teams, to support claim outcomes. This position works independently, managing a caseload and prioritizing responsibilities while ensuring timely and accurate claim resolution in accordance with company policies and regulatory guidelines. Build on your property claims expertise with National General Insurance. In this role, you will apply your experience to manage a range of homeowners claims, make informed decisions, and contribute to consistent, fair outcomes. This opportunity offers the ability to further develop your technical knowledge across claim types, work with experienced professionals, and operate with a level of autonomy while remaining supported by a broader claims organization. It is well-suited for individuals who take a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to claims handling and value accuracy, consistency, and accountability in their work. Key Responsibilities - Handles investigation regarding all aspects of Homeowners first party claims (coverage, damages and subrogation) with the exercise of discretion and independence within increased level of authority. - Applies increased experience in the Adjuster II level or a rotation into a specialty position (Coverage, Investigation Specialist, Litigation, Large Loss, Water Mitigation, Desk Review). - For claims involving fraud or subrogation, partners with assigned reps from those areas to achieve best outcome. - Recognizes and identifies key components of residential construction and repair, including structural integrity and home systems. - Identifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills. - Determines subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle. - Demonstrates broad understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department.
