Financial Manager – Creation

• The Financial Manager will lead and develop the financial control team for the Americas region and ensure delivery of the key activities below: • Regulatory reporting: Lead timely production of statutory financial statements for each entity in accordance with local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (local GAAP), ensuring full accuracy and integrity. • Management reporting: Support Finance leadership for the Americas in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual actuals for regional management accounts. • GAAP conversion: Manage reconciliations and conversions between Group GAAP (IFRS) and local GAAP. • Financial integrity: Lead assurance activities over financial statement accuracy, including periodic control testing and rigorous balance sheet documentation. • SSC governance: Oversee reconciliations of balance sheets prepared by the Shared Services Center (SSC) and manage any required corrections. • Cash management: Lead cash-flow forecasting and manage working capital targets (days sales outstanding) in collaboration with divisional teams and the SSC to optimize cash conversion. • Technical expertise: Provide regional finance expertise to ensure compliance with global policies and established processes. • Tax and audit: Partner with the tax team to prepare VAT/sales tax and corporate tax filings (including Form 1099 and other regulatory filings), and manage relationships with internal and external auditors. • Performance analysis: Conduct ad hoc trend and variance analyses to provide Finance leadership with actionable insights to support decision-making. • Partnership with SSC team leads: Stabilize and optimize established Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes. • Service optimization: Monitor SSC service delivery, resolve escalations, and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement. • Finance excellence: Contribute to regional growth and standardization projects, ensuring local/regulatory requirements are incorporated into new system and process designs. • Entity rationalization: Participate in strategic projects to simplify the regional legal entity structure and manage subsequent rationalization activities. • People leadership: Provide day-to-day supervision and mentorship to the team, reviewing deliverables to ensure accuracy and timely completion. • Best practices: Collaborate with the Americas team to share improvements and promote a finance excellence mindset. • Strategic alignment: Act as a trusted partner within the global Finance team to create value, manage risk, and support business growth.

Job Requirements

  • Professional designation: CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) or equivalent designation required.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in global finance roles, including proven experience managing and developing direct reports.
  • Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of financial control processes and internal controls, with the ability to work with both local GAAP and IFRS.
  • Audit and compliance expertise: Demonstrated experience preparing regulatory filings and meeting tax obligations (e.g., GST/HST, Form 1099), and managing positive relationships with external auditors and tax authorities.
  • Change leadership: Proven confidence to lead process and system transitions and to drive enthusiastic adoption of finance-excellence workflows across finance and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Operational excellence: Proactive approach to managing SSC relationships and ability to troubleshoot issues and correct complex accounting problems at the source.
  • Analytical rigor: Strong financial analysis skills, including the ability to identify anomalies, detect trends, and translate data into actionable insights for finance leaders.
