Role Description The New Engine Sales Manager will manage all aspects of industrial engine sales. This role will perform quotes, activity, and follow-up reports while effectively monitoring sales activities. Additionally, the New Engine Sales Manager will focus on maintaining regulatory and technical information for distribution dealers. The New Engine Sales Manager will liaise with customers, dealers, end-users, and multiple DEUTZ departments. The ideal candidate must be knowledgeable in sales with a demonstrable ability to network and be flexible to changing work environments while identifying and quickly assessing opportunities. - Promote, sell, and manage New and Remanufactured DEUTZ Diesel engines product line for assigned territory working primarily with OEMs. - Oversee all aspects of direct engine O.E.M. dealer and end-user sales. - Generate new business through networking and cold-calling efforts. - Maintain regulatory and technical information for distribution to O.E.M. and dealers. - Provide market information to DEUTZ Corporation. - Perform quotes, weekly/monthly activity reports, follow-up reports, and documentation required to monitor sales activities effectively. - Identify, research, and contact prospective customers and build positive relationships to generate future sales and repeat business. - Effectively communicate territory goals, growth goals, and target accounts to the executive team and co-workers. - Negotiate purchasing terms, contracts, and vendor sales agreements. - Assess and document customer feedback for quality assurance and risk management purposes. - Confer with marketing and sales divisions to establish pricing schedules. - Advise end-users and dealers on policies and operating procedures. - Perform product demonstrations. - Promote product lines by attending industry events and expositions. - Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Strong customer service & team-building skills with the ability to work well with customers and in-house sales and applications engineers. - Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work with multiple departments and personalities. - Strong results-driven attitude with the ability to finish tasks effectively. - Strong influential skills with the ability to influence and communicate at all levels. - Strong innovative and desire to-learn attitude with the ability to increase your knowledge about DEUTZ business, products, markets, and customers. - Self-motivated with the ability to perform tasks with a maximum degree of quality and without supervision. - Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and remain calm under pressure. Requirements - Must be able to promote and sell to OEMs, Dealer Networks, and end-users. - Experienced in customer/ market requirements. - 3 plus years’ experience working with distributors in the engine or related business. - Computer-oriented and experienced with Microsoft computer software programs (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access). - Knowledge of the off-highway engine market and its applications. - Must be able to travel to territory sites as required. Preferred Requirements - A college degree in a related field or equivalent experience is necessary. Travel Requirements Anticipated local & domestic travel time is approximately 50-75% depending on business needs.
