Network Engineer

Accenture Federal Services

• Assist in designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing network infrastructure. • Support configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of network equipment (e.g., Cisco, Juniper). • Use network analysis tools such as Wireshark to identify and help resolve issues. • Contribute to SDN (Software‑Defined Networking) architecture efforts and automated configuration activities. • Assist with network assessments, documentation updates, and configuration baseline development. • Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to support network policy development and ensure compliance with client IT standards. • Help troubleshoot and resolve network incidents in coordination with senior engineers. • Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and data security best practices. • Manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of IT experience
  • 2 years experience with network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewalls (Cisco, Juniper).
  • Experience with network troubleshooting tools and processes

Role Description Provides technical support for the Bank’s data or voice network infrastructure. Responsibilities include: - Installs, maintains, and configures network hardware and software. - Resolves technical issues reported by users or system alerts. - Responsible for network components, asset inventory, and capacity planning. - Develops and documents network device upgrades. - Drives operational excellence and network efficiency. - Provides continuous service through daily activities and on-call rotation for after-hours support. - Maintains devices, servers, and other related network components including IP address management and Domain Name Services. - Works with end users and vendors to resolve identified hardware and software issues. - Responsible for administration, communication, and documentation throughout technical support activities. - Maintains network hardware and software standards utilized across the team. - Monitors and audits network to determine performance. - Reviews system-generated events to identify, analyze, and resolve issues. - Assists in threat mitigation and network security activities by researching code for security vulnerabilities. - Works to continuously improve network capacity, operations, and infrastructure. - Configures and installs new hardware and software as needed. - Facilitates overall network capabilities. - Maintains a strong knowledge base of network software, hardware, and related infrastructure. - Communicates effective and clear technical information to associates, vendors, and end users. - May assist with special technical projects. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Electronic Engineering, or related field. - Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or as a Systems Integration Engineer, Network Specialist, Network Engineer, Network Analyst, Network Administrator, IT Coordinator, or a related occupation. - Experience with computer hardware skills, including setup, troubleshooting, software installation, networking, upgrades, and documentation. - Data analysis skills, including spreadsheet entry, import/export, pivot table, dashboards, reporting, sorting, and cleaning. - Knowledge of wide-area network (WAN), virtual private network (VPN), and converged services. - Knowledge of networking technologies and protocols including TCP/IP, IPT, and VOIP. - Knowledge of Cisco and Cabletron hubs and routers. - Knowledge of Automatic Call Distribution (ACD), Interactive Voice Response (IVR), ECS, and related security protocols. - Knowledge of Token Ring, Ethernet, FIDDI, and FastEthernet. - Excellent technical skills regarding network routing, switching, and provisioning.
