Role Description The Senior Manager, Facilities – Alarm Projects and Repair is responsible for overseeing Macy’s fire and burglar alarm systems repair and project programs, a scope that directly impacts store safety, operational continuity, and expense control. This critical role ensures that alarm repairs are completed in a timely manner to support life safety and security standards, minimizing system downtime and limiting related costs. The Senior Manager provides leadership and technical guidance to the alarm operations team and vendors, driving process improvements and maintaining accountability for effective alarm issue resolution and successful completion of alarm upgrade projects. What You Will Do - Oversee day-to-day fire and burglar alarm repair operations across all locations. - Manage alarm-related work orders in ServiceChannel to ensure issues are resolved promptly. - Lead direct reports in support of maintaining and advancing the capabilities and dependability of alarm systems. - Schedule and verify alarm inspections and certifications as required. - Manage the alarm ticketing and work order process in partnership with the MSOC team. - Guide remediation of alarm system deficiencies by reviewing and approving repair proposals. - Ensure reliable alarm communications by resolving service interruptions promptly. - Lead major alarm system upgrade projects and new alarm installations. - Ensure new or upgraded burglar/fire alarm systems are delivered on time and within budget. - Support leadership direction and embrace change. - Manage financial commitments. - Assist in developing policies and procedures. - Generate ideas for improvement. - Collaborate with business partners and third-party providers to improve alarm program effectiveness. - Ensure clear communication of alarm activities and updates across all relevant stakeholders. - Provide feedback on team challenges/issues to continuously improve operations. - Develop a culture of ownership and accountability within the alarm projects and repair team. - Execute additional responsibilities as directed. - Off hour on-call support and occasional travel required. - Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships. - Exhibit regular, dependable attendance & punctuality. Qualifications - High school diploma or Bachelor’s degree is required and/or 5-7 years experience in related job is preferred. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to read, write and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals. - Strong conflict resolution, negotiation, and consensus building skills. - Presentation, written, and verbal communication skills sufficient to effectively communicate issues and solutions to all levels of business. - Strong sense of urgency and excellent follow up skills with ability to prioritize and achieve target dates. - Proficient in basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. - This position requires regular walking, standing, hearing, and talking. - May occasionally be required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. - Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. - Possess manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment. - Capable of moving or lifting items under 10 pounds.
