Our head office is located in Sydney, Australia, and this role will be fully remote, supporting biotech companies across the US East Coast market. Reporting to the Director, Business Development, you will play a critical role in identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective biotech clients. You will generate high-quality sales opportunities through strategic outbound prospecting and help expand Southern Star Research’s presence within the US biotechnology sector. You’ll Be Responsible For - Identifying and researching prospective biotech companies across the US East Coast. - Building and maintaining targeted prospect lists, including key decision-makers, influencers, founders, and C-suite stakeholders. - Conducting high-volume outbound outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels. - Qualifying inbound and outbound leads based on clinical development stage, outsourcing needs, therapeutic focus, geography, and strategic fit. - Generating qualified meetings and opportunities for the Director, Business Development. - Engaging professionally with biotech executives, clinical development leaders, and operational stakeholders. - Tailoring outreach messaging to align with each prospect’s development stage, pipeline, and business objectives. - Maintaining accurate CRM records, prospect intelligence, and sales activity tracking. - Supporting targeted business development campaigns, conference follow-up activities, and account-based outreach initiatives. - Monitoring biotech market activity, funding announcements, pipeline developments, and outsourcing opportunities to identify new business prospects. - Sharing market insights and intelligence to support broader business development strategy. To Be Successful In The Role, We’re Looking For Candidates With - 2–3 years’ experience as a Sales Development Representative, Inside Sales Representative, Business Development Associate, or similar role. - Demonstrated success generating meetings and opportunities within biotechnology, clinical research, CRO services, life sciences, or a related industry. - Proven experience in cold calling, outbound email campaigns, LinkedIn prospecting, and high-volume lead generation. - Experience engaging senior stakeholders, including founders, executives, clinical development leaders, and C-suite decision-makers. - Strong understanding of biotechnology, clinical development, and clinical trial terminology. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and CRM discipline. - The ability to work autonomously in a remote environment while managing priorities across time zones. - A track record of meeting or exceeding activity and performance targets.
