Role Description ASI has an exciting opportunity for a Business Development Representative to work with our global sales team to develop target accounts for prospecting. Through outbound calling and emails, the BDR will research, cultivate, and qualify inbound leads and set meetings designed to generate new opportunities for the sales team. Competitive base salary with the potential to earn £12,000 - £25,000 GBP in commissions after successful achievement of BDR goals and performance metrics. - Working with sales and marketing leadership to develop target accounts for prospecting. - Following up, cultivating, and qualifying in-bound leads for the sales team, and generating new opportunities, through outbound calling and email. - Researching inbound leads and target accounts to add key contacts to CRM system. - Maintaining data integrity in CRM system through data cleanup. - Track, maintain, and report on key outbound activities such as calls made, connections, and appointments set and completed. - Achieving meeting goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. - Continuing to grow and increase product knowledge and sales skills. - Performing other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. - Strong drive and a determined sales approach. - Experience with multiple sales techniques, including cold calls. - Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot and/or iMIS). - Understanding of sales performance metrics. - Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative or similar role, with a track record of achieving sales quotas, preferred. Role Description The Business Development Director – Europe plays a critical leadership role in driving strategic growth for Surmodics across Central and broader European markets. This individual is responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities, with a primary focus on expanding adoption of Surmodics’ advanced surface modification technologies and specialty polymer development capabilities. This role serves as the senior commercial leader and primary customer interface for European medical device companies, particularly in early-stage feasibility, product development, and scale-up programs. The Director will proactively originate and convert new opportunities by engaging R&D, engineering, and executive stakeholders within target accounts, positioning Surmodics as a strategic partner for hydrophilic coatings, drug delivery technologies, and custom polymer solutions. The Business Development Director will lead the full commercial lifecycle, from market development and prospecting through contract execution, while collaborating cross-functionally with technical, operations, and legal teams across global locations. This role requires a highly proactive, externally focused leader who can independently build pipeline, shape customer demand, and accelerate revenue growth. This role is open to European remote locations. In Europe, we have offices in Galway, Ireland and Copenhagen, Denmark.
