Our head office is located in Sydney, Australia, and this role will be fully remote, supporting biotech companies across the US East Coast market. Reporting to the Director, Business Development, you will play a critical role in identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective biotech clients. You will generate high-quality sales opportunities through strategic outbound prospecting and help expand Southern Star Research’s presence within the US biotechnology sector. You’ll Be Responsible For - Identifying and researching prospective biotech companies across the US East Coast. - Building and maintaining targeted prospect lists, including key decision-makers, influencers, founders, and C-suite stakeholders. - Conducting high-volume outbound outreach via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels. - Qualifying inbound and outbound leads based on clinical development stage, outsourcing needs, therapeutic focus, geography, and strategic fit. - Generating qualified meetings and opportunities for the Director, Business Development. - Engaging professionally with biotech executives, clinical development leaders, and operational stakeholders. - Tailoring outreach messaging to align with each prospect’s development stage, pipeline, and business objectives. - Maintaining accurate CRM records, prospect intelligence, and sales activity tracking. - Supporting targeted business development campaigns, conference follow-up activities, and account-based outreach initiatives. - Monitoring biotech market activity, funding announcements, pipeline developments, and outsourcing opportunities to identify new business prospects. - Sharing market insights and intelligence to support broader business development strategy. To Be Successful In The Role, We’re Looking For Candidates With - 2–3 years’ experience as a Sales Development Representative, Inside Sales Representative, Business Development Associate, or similar role. - Demonstrated success generating meetings and opportunities within biotechnology, clinical research, CRO services, life sciences, or a related industry. - Proven experience in cold calling, outbound email campaigns, LinkedIn prospecting, and high-volume lead generation. - Experience engaging senior stakeholders, including founders, executives, clinical development leaders, and C-suite decision-makers. - Strong understanding of biotechnology, clinical development, and clinical trial terminology. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and CRM discipline. - The ability to work autonomously in a remote environment while managing priorities across time zones. - A track record of meeting or exceeding activity and performance targets. Highly Regarded - Experience working for a CRO, biotech company, clinical trial service provider, or life sciences vendor. - Exposure to Australian clinical trials or global clinical development programs. - Familiarity with US biotech hubs and emerging biotech companies. - Experience using CRM and sales engagement platforms. - Knowledge of biotech funding cycles, outsourcing trends, and clinical trial delivery. The role We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Associate to join our growing team. Our head office is in North Sydney, and this role has flexibility to be office based, hybrid or home based anywhere in Australia. Reporting to the Head of Quality Assurance, you’ll be responsible for: - Manage and coordinate the company training program, including planning, delivery, induction, and LMS administration in collaboration with subject matter experts and department heads. - Maintain and monitor training records, trackers, and compliance to ensure all employee training meets organisational and regulatory requirements. - Support and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), including documentation, trackers, and training on new or revised procedures. - Conduct training needs analyses, deliver workshops and specialised training, and identify skill gaps through ongoing monitoring and co-monitoring activities. - Support audits and reporting by preparing materials, assisting with client audits, producing training/quality metrics, and providing general training and QA guidance. To be successful in the role, we’re looking for candidates with: - Appropriate tertiary qualifications in the medical, pharmaceutical or healthcare disciplines. - Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in the clinical research environment including experience in training or learning development role. Role Description The Head of Biometrics is a strategic leadership role responsible for building and scaling a high-performing, technology-enabled biometrics function encompassing Biostatistics, Statistical Programming, Data Management, and Medical Writing. This role is less about CRO or specific technical domain depth and more about transformational leadership, operational excellence, digital innovation with a focus on developing an AI roadmap, and talent development. The successful candidate will build a modern, scalable biometrics department and service that drives quality, efficiency, and commercial competitiveness. You’ll be responsible for: - Build & Lead the Function: Lead a high‑performing biometrics function with a clear structure, career development pathways, and strong leadership capability within the team. Develop a culture of accountability and excellence, with clear performance metrics established for all roles within the department. - Technology & Digital Enablement: Lead the optimisation of biometrics systems, e.g., automation, data visualisation, and AI-enabled workflows to improve scalability, speed, and quality. - Operational & Commercial Leadership: Develop scalable resourcing models, establish delivery governance and quality oversight frameworks, and support Business Development in proposals and bid defence meetings. - Client & Stakeholder Impact: Act as senior escalation pathway for clients and contribute to enterprise‑wide strategy and cross‑functional alignment.
