Field Service Technician
Shape Technologies Group
• Provide troubleshooting and repair service for waterjet equipment • Respond to customer inquiries in person, via telephone and email • Provide extensive training in the safety, operation, and maintenance of waterjet equipment • Process documentation of all activities relating to customer inquiries or field service • Assist in the development of new products and emerging technologies • Be an effective liaison with Engineering and Sales departments regarding customer feedback and new product development • Process requests for replacing defective components in compliance with KMT warranty • Assist other service technicians in their territories with service • Perform other duties as required • Office duties that include accurate record keeping, basic computer knowledge and effective organizational skills are required
Job Requirements
- Two years Technical or Associates Degree minimum or combination of education and experience
- Preferred B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or combination of education and experience
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, plumbing, pneumatic, electrical and electronic skills are required
- General diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities
- Independent judgment to analyze and solve technical problems
- Proficient with Microsoft Suites and other relevant software
- Good keyboarding skills
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills and ability to professionally manage and resolve stressful situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Positive attitude, initiative and dependability
- Demonstrated ability for innovative/creative thinking
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to quickly learn the company products and parts
- Ability to travel 70% or more for on-site work
