Compliance Advisory Manager

Role Description The role is within the 2LOD Compliance advisory team and will require the role holder to support the Director of Compliance in creating and maintaining an environment in which senior management and the business is able to comply with UK regulatory requirements. The role holder will have demonstrable experience of providing compliance support across a range of disciplines in a financial services regulated environment, consultancy or at the regulator and be able to advise senior stakeholders on the regulations applicable to our product range, including: - Mortgages - Consumer credit - Savings and ISA products The role holder will also bring an understanding of the distribution models through which these products reach customers and will act as a champion of the compliance framework. Your focus will be on: - Providing advice on regulation to the business across a broad range of topics, ensuring good customer outcomes are achieved in line with the Consumer Duty. - Supporting the team as needed to provide compliance sign-off of financial promotions, customer communications, and training materials. - Undertaking regulatory horizon scanning and maintaining regular touchpoints with relevant stakeholders across the business to ensure they are up to date with changes. - Providing compliance support across the product range, with particular focus on unsecured consumer credit and the distribution models through which our products are offered. - Developing a strong presence across the bank and supporting as needed in operational meetings, helping to promote a strong compliant culture. - Providing 2LOD input to the wider Risk team, including consulting on key initiatives and ensuring due governance practices are observed. - Supporting product governance across the product lifecycle, from design and approval through to ongoing and annual review. - Supporting engagements with the regulator as required by the Director of Compliance including coordinating responses to requests for information, submitting notifications and/or coordinating applications via Connect. - Supporting as needed in undertaking policy reviews and creating, developing and rolling out compliance training materials to help educate colleagues on regulatory risks. - Identifying, investigating and resolving compliance issues. Qualifications - Strong focus on consumer outcomes and supporting the business in its embedment of Consumer Duty. - Ability to hit the ground running and work well under pressure, at pace, and to prioritise effectively. - Adaptable and able to take on a wide range of Compliance issues, depending on the needs of the team. - Strong and broad expertise of regulatory landscape and demonstrable experience of advising senior stakeholders on FCA regulatory matters in a financial services environment, including SME knowledge of FCA Handbook, Consumer Credit Act, Senior Managers & Certification Regime, and Consumer Duty. - Working knowledge of retail lending products, with experience of unsecured consumer credit particularly welcome. - Excellent attention to detail and a forensic approach to delivering on a task. - Strong communication skills, including the confidence to interact with and challenge senior stakeholders across the business. - Ability to appropriately challenge information and get to the heart of a matter. - Direct experience working at the FCA, or of engaging with the FCA through thematic or firm-specific reviews, would be an advantage.
