The Federal Systems Technology department of the USFGMD is responsible for service supporting a charter of implementing and integrating complex systems sold worldwide to the US Federal Government. As a USFGMD Systems Technologist, you will be exposed to a wide variety of communications requirements in both the Presale and Post Sale phases of a project. These applications span the entire breadth of the US Federal Government throughout the world. Responsibilities: Team work is the key to success. Provide on-site and remote troubleshooting on the NAVY ELMR system. Assist the other team FSTs in system troubleshooting and routine maintenance. Demonstrated experience working in IT production environments. Demonstrated ability to balance multiple concurrent responsibilities of varying priorities and shift focus from one to another with minimal loss of productivity or work quality. Provide rotating on-call support shared amongst the team. Demonstrated experience working in IT production environments. Skills: Extensive verbal and written communication within the NAVY ELMR team. Strong organization skills and a high attention to detail. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and G-Suite applications. Must have strong self-management skills and "people" skills to work closely with Motorola Solutions’ customers and subcontractor (MSS) community, as well as Motorola Solutions sales, engineering, project management, and customer service teams. Candidate Requirements: Will report 5 days a week to the Zone Core site at Naval Station in San Diego. The System Manager must live within one hour of the office location. Some travel of up to 25% annually may be required. Must be willing and able to obtain DoD Secret-level clearance as required within 18 months of initial employment date. Required to lift equipment of ~ 50lbs. Required to complete standard form SF86 questionnaire for national security positions. Must be in possession of CompTIA Security+ certification or be capable of obtaining it within the first 6 months of employment. Must be in possession of minimum ETA CET-a certification or be capable of obtaining it within the first 6 months of employment. 2+ years of networking (Wide and Local Area Networks) experience. Education or work experience may be substituted. Additional Qualifications: Excellent knowledge and demonstration of hardware and software tools. Experience with ESXi VMware virtualization suites. Experience with McAfee suite of security products. Proficient with Windows 10, Windows Server 2012, and Active Directory. Desired Qualifications: CompTIA Network+, MCSE, and CISSP certifications. Experience with Host Based Security Systems (HBSS) Experience with CAC/PIV authentication based systems. Working knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) theory. Experience with firewalls and security related applications. 2+ years experience hands-on with Motorola ASTRO technology including Zone Core, ASTRO Networking, Microsoft Active Directory, McAfee security suite, MCC7500 dispatch consoles, NICE Logging etc. #LI-CC1 Target Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000 USD Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. - The NAVY ELMR is geographically the largest, most complex ASTRO system in the world. The San Diego Zone Core System Manager will be responsible for the day to day activities of managing the M-Core Master Site for a multi-zone DSR system. That includes, but is not limited to, routine system checks, alarm monitoring, case management, system backups, patching support, engineering support, inter-zone support, DC (domain controller) maintenance, RF site troubleshooting, network troubleshooting, dispatch site troubleshooting, documentation, moving/lifting heavy equipment >50lbs. and system wide team collaboration.
- The NAVY ELMR San Diego Master Site System Manager must be capable of providing onsite support as needed at one of the many RF sites in the region or within the 911 Regional Dispatch Center. The System Manager will collaborate with other Field FSTs, Information Assurance, Engineering, and the NAVY SUA team to support patching, password rotation, system outages, system upgrades, and Engineering Change Requests as necessary.
