Senior Director of Construction Quality Control

Serverfarm

• Develop and implement a Quality Management Plan tailored for each data center construction project within a portfolio. • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor adherence to construction standards, codes, and project specifications. • Oversee the quality & commissioning processes for MEP systems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and standards. • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and contractors to resolve quality-related issues. • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and industry standards (e.g., Uptime Institute, LEED, ISO, and ASHRAE). • Establish project-specific quality control procedures for materials, workmanship, and installations, including HVAC, electrical, and networking infrastructure. • Attend selected construction progress meetings and preinstallation job site meetings to obtain information on construction progress. • Attend and be responsible for all commissioning meetings. • Collaborate with project teams, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure the successful implementation of MEP systems. • Perform root-cause analysis on defects and propose corrective actions. • Manage testing and commissioning processes for data center mechanical and electrical systems. • Maintain detailed documentation and reports on quality audits, inspections, and corrective actions. • Train construction teams on quality control procedures and best practices.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Would prefer a degree in mechanical or electrical engineering ILO Civil engineering.
  • Minimum 9-15 years of experience in construction quality management, preferably in data center or mission-critical facilities.
  • Expertise in building codes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, MEP systems, and commissioning processes.
  • Certifications such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer), LEED AP, or Uptime Institute Accreditation are a plus.
  • QCxP would be a good accreditation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
