Job Description

Field Service Engineer

Emerson

• Provide professional after‑sales service and support for Emerson Ovation control systems, with a primary focus on Ovation solutions • Perform first line maintenance, site installation, commissioning, upgrades, start-up and repair services at customer locations • Undertake and support hardware and software modification programmes to meet customer and operational requirements • Use intelligent field devices and system data to analyse performance and translate insights into practical customer recommendations • Deliver on‑site customer training on system operation, application, and service best practices • Support customers in resolving technical and application issues, including complex or persistent problems • Participate in an on‑call support rota as required to ensure continuity of service • Collaborate with sales and service colleagues by supporting product demonstrations, service proposals, and customer engagements • Identify service and product opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives • Work flexibly across customer sites throughout the UK and Ireland, including planned travel and occasional extended assignments, in line with business and customer needs

Job Requirements

  • Hands‑on experience servicing, commissioning, or supporting distributed control systems (DCS) within an industrial, power generation, or process environment
  • Practical knowledge of control and instrumentation principles, including control loop configuration and tuning
  • The ability to interpret technical data and apply it to real‑world operational challenges
  • Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and colleagues
  • The ability to work autonomously while remaining connected to a wider service team
  • A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel regularly to customer sites across the UK and Ireland
  • Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Experience working with Emerson Ovation, DeltaV, or comparable distributed control systems
  • Exposure to Power, Water, or similar regulated industrial environments
  • Experience delivering customer training or supporting system upgrades and preventative maintenance activities
  • An engineering qualification or equivalent practical experience in electronics, control engineering, computer science, or a related field

A Day In Your Life - Travel 75%-80% of the time throughout Europe. - Communicate with external and internal customers to install and implement Augury’s hardware and services successfully. - Effectively manage administrative tasks, which include, but are not limited to, service reports, customer action lists, inventory returns, and material asset lists, Salesforce, and other project management software. - Assist in the optimization of our products by working alongside our reliability systems managers and client partners. - Assist with project-specific tasks (conducting site surveys, maintenance visits, and installations). - Review the weekly/monthly plan and organize field activities following the Field Operation guidelines - Document events in the CRM platform correctly. - Answer escalations from service management. What You Bring - Must have a valid driver's license, passport, and the ability to successfully pass a background check. - 5-10 years of hands-on experience in installing or troubleshooting industrial controls, electromechanical, and wireless systems. - Comprehensive understanding of various types of rotating equipment operation and design. - Experience working in Industrial environments and associated safe work practices. - Strong verbal and written communication skills in both German and English are a plus. - Ability to effectively communicate with clients and internal stakeholders both verbally and electronically. - You go above and beyond to ensure that the customer is satisfied. - You always put your best foot forward when interacting with customers, as you are the face of Augury. - Vibration Cat I or II is a strong plus but not required. - Multi-lingual is a strong plus but not required. - Able and willing to work on the weekend. As a Professional Scorer for the PTEA OP, you will evaluate challenging written responses that are based on a stringent set of rubrics. The majority of responses on this assessment are scored by an artificial intelligence system; however, you will be tasked with scoring outlier responses that could not be assessed by the AI. These responses may not closely align with the prompts, requiring you to make nuanced scoring decisions.
