Senior Commercial Counsel - Northern Europe We’re looking for a talented commercial transactions attorney to join our team to support our commercial business in Northern Europe with flexibility to support in other EMEA countries, particularly in Southern Europe too. In this role, you will work with the sales team, internal business partners, and other Legal team members to review and respond to requests from current and prospective customers. As a valued member of this team, you will further grow your already existing hands-on experience drafting and negotiating a variety of customer and partner agreements and while performing matrix management across cross-functional teams. Your future team Atlassian’s Legal Team is seen within Atlassian as an impactful business partner, serving our business with practical and business-oriented advice and solutions. You will report directly to the Senior Director, Head of Commercial Legal EMEA Region. Within that team, your focus will be to support transactions across Northern Europe, and on occasion also Southern Europe and where needed other countries. You will have lots of opportunity to work closely with other colleagues in EMEA and globally, both on the day job and on project work. To help our teams work together effectively, this role requires you to be located in the UK. Responsibilities In this role, you’ll get to: - Be an active part of our Commercial Legal Team, which supports Atlassian's enterprise sales business. - Negotiate enterprise cloud and license agreements for Atlassian's products and services, including master services agreements. - Partner and collaborate with other teams, such as our privacy, risk and compliance, security, finance, accounting, product and sales teams to facilitate contract reviews and internal process improvement, and development and enhancement of our customer-facing forms. - Providing pragmatic, business-minded guidance on contract-related issues. - Developing support materials and providing trainings to educate our direct sales and channel teams on contract terms and other legal issues. - Build trusted relationships with our sales colleagues in the region, being extremely curious about our company’s business priorities and proactive in suggesting solutions. - Advise business and corporate functions in the region in close collaboration with our specialist teams in the U.S. and EMEA. - Contribute to projects improving contract processes and sales enablement. On your first day, we'll expect you to: - Have a Netherlands, Swedish, or UK legal qualification with 8+ years PQE - Have strong experience handling b2b contract negotiations and have good commercial and business acumen. - Be able to communicate fluently in English, other languages are a plus. - Have an understanding of related topics like data privacy. - Be curious about Atlassian's products, culture, and business model. - Be enthusiastic to work in an international environment, learn and take on new responsibilities. - Have good knowledge of privacy matters and in particular GDPR We appreciate as a plus: - Additional legal qualifications in other EMEA jurisdictions. - Knowledge/experience in other legal areas. - Experience with public sector customers or financial institutions. - Experience in the SaaS space and tech - European Public Sector procurement experience and knowledge
