Role Description Are you a native Georgian speaker with a deep understanding of local food and solid English comprehension? Welo Data is seeking contributors for a global food delivery project. In this freelance role, you will review restaurant menu items written in Georgian and classify them using a standardized taxonomy in Americanized English. Your cultural knowledge and linguistic skills will directly help enhance food category recognition across diverse global markets. What You Will Do - Read & Review: Analyze each menu item's name, category, and description written in Georgian. - Confirm Context: Check the item photo (if available) to visually verify the food type. - Classify (Dish Label): Assign the most accurate Dish Label from an English-language taxonomy dropdown using keywords like "pasta" or "grilled chicken". - Categorize (Course Label): Select the appropriate Course Label in English (e.g., Appetizer, Main Course, Side Dish, Dessert, Beverage, Other). - Add Contextual Notes: Provide a brief note for any items that seem unclear, ambiguous, or unusual to ensure no data row is left blank. Qualifications - Native Georgian speaker currently based in Georgia. - Strong ability to confidently navigate and select from taxonomy options written in Americanized English. - Deep familiarity with Georgian restaurant menus, local cuisine terminology, and regional specialties. - Comfortable using a web browser to navigate structured data entry tasks. - A commitment to providing consistent, highly accurate, and quality work. - Ability to complete the assignment within 1–2 business days after receiving system access.
