Role Description Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Bulk Logistics, the Logistics Manager will have responsibility for the delivery of the company’s products and the quality and productivity of the bulk logistics team. Emphasis will be placed on the management of bulk logistics, ensuring maximum efficiency of our field operations resources, both trucks and drivers. A key component will be the development of sound and progressive staff development initiatives to ensure a fully competent and motivated workforce to meet the challenges of today and the future. This role will support and embed Superior Plus Propane’s vision, mission, values and goals by ensuring that all business and people practices, policies and processes are applied consistently in support of excellent customer service and ease of doing business. - Champion a strong safety culture in all aspects of bulk delivery and ensure team members receive the appropriate training to support safe and compliant logistics operations. - Collaborate with Bulk Logistics leadership, Regional General Managers, Area Operations Managers, District Managers, and field operations to gather insights and implement strategic improvements that enhance customer satisfaction and optimize the overall customer experience. - Oversee and manage the day‑to‑day activities of the Bulk Logistics Coordinators, ensuring effective workflow, service excellence, and operational efficiency. - Actively participate as a contributing member of the Regional Management Team. - Identify and resolve issues that impact customer service, ensuring timely and effective solutions. - Support the recruitment, training, development, and retention of direct reports. - Stay informed of industry trends and recommend proactive strategies and responses to maintain operational competitiveness. - Monitor and evaluate team and individual performance against key performance indicators, including asset and resource utilization, overtime management, and customer service standards. - Conduct performance reviews, lead succession planning efforts, and foster strong employee engagement within the team. - Serve as an escalation point, removing obstacles for Logistics Coordinators and promoting a collaborative, solutions‑focused team environment. - Use data and analytics to drive operational efficiency and route optimization. - Champion continuous improvement practices and operational standardization. - Ensure effective use of Logistics technologies and tools. Qualifications - A minimum of five (5) years of operational management, preferably in an energy related environment. - Post secondary education; training in logistics is an asset. - Practical, hands-on leader with experience in technical operations and logistics. - A proven track record in effective people management. - Guided by business objectives and good management practices and possess a strong customer service focus. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. - Demonstrated project and functional leadership abilities. - Able to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally. - Strong strategic thinking, decision making, analytical, judgement, and problem-solving skills. - Exhibit strong change-management capabilities. - Able to work independently and within a North American team, exhibiting a high degree of initiative, enthusiasm, and logical thinking. - Advanced computer skills, including Excel, Access, and Outlook. - Legal Authorization to work in the US is required.
