Role Description - Key end customer contact for planning solution design and creating technical concepts for Edge computing customers. - Senior technical expert responsible for design and implementation of Edge computing related technologies. - Ability to define technologies for Edge computing cluster to be implemented for production in order to satisfy customer expectation in sync with roadmap definition. - Creation of Edge cluster design and cabling plan preparation, leading installations, testing, steering multiple technicians on multiple layers: OS/network/middleware/application. - Perform, coordinate and improve most complex activities (3rd level environment) needed to provide IT services and the supporting infrastructure in order to fulfill relevant KPI’s. - Design, develop, test, implement and support Edge computing components and applications in order to deliver T-Systems quality standard cloud product portfolio. - Build and develop concepts, processes and methods for automation, optimization and standardization to satisfy T-Systems efficiency and automation requirements. - Provide advice or information on request or on your own initiative to all relevant employees or customers regarding technical aspects of related edge computing product. - Consult, come up with and implement new innovative technologies to satisfy Edge computing T-Systems innovation strategy. - Design, develop, and implement architecture services based on T-Systems Edge computing platform requirements. - Mentor and lead less skilled colleagues so they can learn and groom their potential to become valuable experts in the field. - Act as key technical lead and solve and coordinate activities across related technologies/outside own team. - Actively participates on research & development in assigned technology, determines business requirements, proposes changes and develops implementation plans. Qualifications - Advanced skills in Linux operating systems (preferably Ubuntu/Debian, SLES or RedHat). - Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP and routing, Firewall and DNS, WAN, VPN). - Skilled in configuring services in Linux (HTTP, DNS, DHCP, FTP). - Experience with Open Stack or Open Shift is an advantage. - Knowledge of virtualization on Linux (KVM). - Strong in overseeing system administration operations. - Experienced in Unix shell scripting. - Overview about Middleware related technologies. - Knowledge of server HW to be able to evaluate HW builds. - 5-7 years of experience in the area of similar responsibility, valid certification in given technology is an advantage. - English C1, optional German B1 is an advantage. - Strong presentation skills. - Experience with technical project leadership. Salary Final salary is negotiable. We are offering base salary depending on seniority level and previous experience of candidate.
