Job Description
Trading Manager
Fanatics Betting & Gaming
Role Description Fanatics is looking for a Soccer Manager to own and develop our soccer trading and pricing proposition. This is a hands-on role sitting at the intersection of pricing, product, Operations, and customer experience, with genuine ownership of an in-house model that has significant growth potential. We're building smartly — and that means embracing AI and automation as core tools for how we operate and scale. - Own the soccer pricing strategy across pre-match and in-play markets, with a focus on competitiveness, margin, and sustainability. - Take responsibility for the in-house pricing model — understanding its strengths, identifying gaps, and working with internal stakeholders to develop and improve it. - Collaborate closely with the Risk and Trading Operations teams on line management, liability decisions, and market-making during live events. - Monitor the competitive landscape and ensure General Sports is well-positioned across key leagues and tournaments. - Champion a best-in-class 24/7 soccer experience — ensuring the product is reliable, competitive, and engaging at all times. - Lead the approach to key fixtures and events (domestic leagues, European competitions, international tournaments), ensuring these moments are executed to the highest standard. - Identify opportunities to improve the customer-facing soccer product and work cross-functionally to deliver them. - Explore how AI can be used to personalise and improve the customer experience — from market availability to smarter in-play offerings. - Manage relationships with third-party data feed providers, ensuring quality, reliability, and value for money. - Lead a team of 2-3 trading/pricing analysts, providing day-to-day guidance, development support, and clear direction. - Foster a culture of efficiency and innovation within the team — championing the use of AI tools to remove repetitive workload and free up capacity for higher-value decisions. - Act as a key point of contact for soccer across Trading, Risk, Product, and Commercial teams. Qualifications - 3-5 years of experience in soccer trading, pricing, or a closely related role within sports betting or a data/analytics-driven sports business. - Solid understanding of soccer pricing methodology — pre-match and in-play — and the ability to take ownership of a model rather than simply use one. - Curiosity and comfort around AI and machine learning concepts as they apply to pricing, trading, and operational efficiency. - Experience working with third-party data providers and an appreciation for what good data infrastructure looks like. - Commercially minded — understanding how pricing decisions connect to margin, volume, and business performance. - Strong communicator with the ability to work effectively across trading, risk, and product functions. - Experience managing or mentoring junior team members. - Comfortable operating across time zones and working with a distributed team. Requirements - Experience contributing to or developing an in-house pricing model. - Hands-on experience working with AI/ML-powered pricing or trading tools. - Familiarity with US sports betting markets or experience working in a multi-market environment. - Background in scaling a small IP or trading team. Benefits For information about our benefits, please visit https://benefitsatfanatics.com/ . Salary Range £75,000 — £83,000 GBP By submitting your application, you agree to our terms of service and acknowledge you have read our Candidate Privacy Policy.
