The Role Cedar is seeking an experienced Legal Operations Manager to join our Legal & Compliance Team. The Legal Operations Manager will be responsible for driving process efficiency in Cedar’s legal and compliance operations, bringing creativity, energy, and tech-savvy expertise to support our growing Legal & Compliance Team. Serving as a key operational partner across many internal teams, including Finance, Procurement, Growth, IT Operations, and People, this role will manage contract workflows, support compliance, and drive process improvements. This role is ideal for a self-motivated legal operations professional with a background in contracts management, legal technology, procurement, and corporate administration who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys developing new skills. This position will report to the Sr. Director, Head of Legal and Compliance Operations. In this position you will: Contracts Management : Manage and support the process workflow and negotiation cycle for various contract documents, including NDAs, procurement agreements, client agreements, amendments, and renewal order forms. Provide vendor contracting support for the Cedar Procurement team and client contracting support for the Cedar Growth team by reviewing and negotiating assigned contract requests, in collaboration with other members of the Legal & Compliance team. Assist with improving and managing contract templates and processes to address recurring business needs, and communicate changes clearly and effectively to internal teams. Provide project management support for various contracts data collection projects as needed. Corporate Administration : Oversee insurance policy applications, renewals, questionnaires, insurance certificate requests, and related processes. Collaborate with Cedar’s corporate compliance and statutory representation vendor to prepare, review, and manage annual reports, Secretary of State filings and document orders, required notice letters, certifications, information requests, and administrative filings, including tracking and calendaring corporate compliance-related deadlines. Collaborate with outside counsel and Cedar attorneys to provide paralegal support as needed (insurance claims, wage garnishments, litigation support). Support transactional business development initiatives. Legal & Compliance Technology Management : Assist with implementation and on-going management of the legal and compliance technology tool stack, including CLM, electronic signature, outside counsel billing, eDiscovery, project management, procurement workflow, vendor risk management, and budget development and tracking. Help drive process improvements and support Cedar’s CLM initiatives and updates. Assist in solving process and technology challenges that come with rapid growth, partnering closely with IT Operations and People Operations to deliver optimized and efficient process solutions as issues arise. What we look for in an ideal candidate: 5+ years of relevant experience, ideally with experience in both a law firm and an in-house corporate legal team, supporting contracts management, corporate administration, and legal technology. Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills, including contract negotiation and the ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management. Resourceful, inquisitive, and driven to learn new skills with a strong desire to gain a comprehensive understanding of Cedar’s business. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities and high attention to detail. A team player with superior interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and a sense of humor who works effectively in a collaborative environment. Proficiency in GSuite, Slack, Jira, Confluence, and collaboration tools, including experience using CLM and procurement workflow systems. Role Description The Staff Attorney serves as primary operational legal counsel supporting the organization’s multi-state consumer lending, immigration lending, and solar leasing programs. This role is responsible for regulatory compliance implementation, contract drafting and negotiation, entity governance support, and day-to-day legal guidance to internal stakeholders. The Staff Attorney works closely with the General Counsel to manage regulatory risk across multiple jurisdictions and legal entities and serves as the primary legal partner to operations, lending, and program teams.
