A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $108,400 to $135,500 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Engineer with deep expertise in F5 technologies to join the WWT internal IT team. This role will focus on managing and optimizing our F5 infrastructure, including LTM, GTM, WIPs and VIPs, and will play a key role in supporting our DNS services through F5. The ideal candidate will have strong networking fundamentals, excellent vendor communication skills, and a passion for automation and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain F5 BIG-IP LTM and GTM devices Configure and support virtual IPs (VIPs), pools, nodes, WIPs and DNS zones Develop and maintain iRules, iApps, and automation scripts to streamline operations and enhance system reliability Manage and troubleshoot F5 DNS services, including record creation and zone management Collaborate with application owners, network engineers, and security teams to design and implement traffic management strategies that improve performance and resiliency Support F5 certificate management and ensure secure traffic flows Contribute to F5 automation efforts using tools like Python and Ansible (bonus) Respond to and execute work requests and incidents via ServiceNow Maintain documentation of network and F5 configurations, processes, and procedures Participate in application architecture discussions, ensuring solutions are aligned with business requirements and infrastructure best practices Monitor and analyze network performance, proactively identifying areas for improvement Lead and support troubleshooting efforts for application delivery issues, including root cause analysis and long-term resolution
Job Requirements
- A minimum of 5–7 years of hands-on IT and network engineering experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- A combination of equivalent education, training, and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Hands-on experience with F5 LTM (iRules, Data Groups, certificate management)
- Experience with F5 GTM (WIPs, DNS zones, record creation)
- Ability to interface and provide quality support to partners and internal employees
- Proven ability to troubleshoot effectively and maintain clear communication with stakeholders
- Solid general networking knowledge (TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls)
- Experience with F5 DNS and its role in enterprise environments
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced enterprise-level environment
