Immigration Staff Attorney

Role Description As an Immigration Staff Attorney, you’ll be part of our frontline legal team serving clients in some of the most vulnerable positions. You’ll handle a full caseload, meet directly with clients, and work closely with paralegals, support staff, and community partners to deliver excellent legal service and compassionate care. Key Responsibilities: - Legal Strategy: Lead the development of personalized legal strategies for each client, aligning them with their unique legal circumstances. - Quality Control: Meticulously review application packets, declarations, and motions for family-based petitions, consular processing, T-Visas, SIJS, VAWA, and waivers. - Team Leadership: Grade and provide constructive feedback to paralegals and legal assistants to ensure accurate and timely document delivery. - Client Representation: Conduct exhaustive initial reviews to identify legal issues and represent clients in Adjustment of Status (AOS) interviews before USCIS. - Administrative Support: Serve as "Attorney of the Day," providing legal guidance to the team and attending operational meetings. - Participate in the Consultation Day Events. Qualifications - Licensure: Must have an active U.S. Bar license. - Experience: 2+ years of attorney experience reviewing complex immigration cases (T-Visa, VAWA, U-Visa, SIJS). - Languages: Fully bilingual (English/Spanish) with native or fluent proficiency. - Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Workspace, Slack, and Immigration Case Management Systems (Camplegal). - Mindset: A growth-oriented "can-do" attitude with a focus on continuous improvement and meticulous attention to detail. - Workload: 45 to 50 hours per week. Role Description Key legal team member reporting to Senior Counsel, supporting the company’s commercial, financing, and development objectives across a large portfolio of utility-scale standalone storage projects. Key Responsibilities - Take ownership of discrete transactions and project workstreams, with appropriate guidance from Senior Counsel. - Provide legal support for project financings and investment transactions, including coordination with lenders, investors, and outside counsel. - Support in the development, structuring, negotiation, and execution of key project agreements, including EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and major equipment procurement agreements. - Work closely with the development, finance, asset management, and operations teams to identify risks and develop practical solutions that advance projects to successful deployment. - Contribute to the management of the company’s contracted portfolio, including negotiation, implementation, and ongoing interpretation of key project and commercial documents. - Coordinate with and manage external counsel, counterparties, and advisors to efficiently execute transactions and project agreements. Qualifications - Juris Doctor degree with 2-5 years of experience focused on renewable energy, energy storage, power generation, or other energy practice; in-house experience preferred. - Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction. - Experience supporting complex infrastructure or energy transactions, including project finance or major commercial contracting. - Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to distill complex legal and commercial concepts into clear, workable agreements. - Strong interest in working across the full lifecycle of energy storage projects, from development and financing through construction and operations. - Ability to engage thoughtfully with both transactional and operational legal issues that arise as projects are developed and deployed. - Comfortable working in a lean, collaborative environment with meaningful responsibility and regular interaction with senior leadership. - Candidates with experience focused on project finance and investment transactions, as well as those with experience focused in construction, procurement, and operational project agreements, are encouraged to apply.
