Associate Attorney
McMichael Taylor Gray, LLC
• Provide oversight and management of high-volume statewide foreclosure matters. • Ensure all appropriate actions are taken to expedite the firm’s files. • Act as a liaison between the firm and clients, vendors, outside counsel, courts, trustees, and other foreclosure personnel. • Manage files by applicable foreclosure rules and firm-established timelines. • Work within the firm’s case management system to create, manage, and review daily and weekly reports. • Review and execute various pleadings and correspondence. • Maintain accurate updates in client and firm management systems. • Outline, prepare, and present pleadings and other legal documents. • Argue the merits of assigned cases at hearings, conferences, mediations, or trials. • Attend and/or conduct public auctions as needed. • Review title searches to identify any title issues and to determine the proper parties to serve. • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Admitted to practice in New York
- Admitted to practice in New York's federal district courts and/or other states a plus
- Experience in real estate, mortgage and/or commercial litigation strongly preferred
- Knowledge of FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, as well as any applicable state and federal debt collection and real property law a plus
- Experience in foreclosure and real estate law a plus; if none, must be willing to learn
- Exceptional communication skills (oral and written)
- Ability to travel as needed
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Proficiency in legal research, writing, and document drafting
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality
- A portable book of business is a plus.
