Accounting Manager

Role Description We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of a growing regional Internet Service Provider (ISP) based in Louisiana. The Accounting Manager will manage a small team responsible for managing daily accounting functions, monthly financial reporting, budgeting support, internal controls, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive accounting experience, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced telecommunications environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Manage and oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including: - General ledger maintenance - Accounts payable and receivable - Payroll coordination - Fixed assets - Bank reconciliations - Month-end and year-end close processes - Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. - Assist executive leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. - Maintain compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. - Support external audits, tax preparation, and regulatory reporting requirements. - Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. - Monitor cash flow and assist with financial planning initiatives. - Collaborate with operational departments to improve financial efficiency and reporting accuracy. - Analyze revenue and expense trends related to telecommunications and broadband services. - Utilize accounting and billing systems to ensure accurate customer and revenue reporting. - Assist with process improvements and system integrations related to financial operations. - Supervise and mentor accounting staff as needed. - Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience required. - Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience required. - Prior management or supervisory experience preferred. - Experience in telecommunications, broadband, utility, or ISP industries strongly preferred. - Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. - Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel. - Experience with CHR Omnia BSS is beneficial. - CPA certification is a plus but not required. - Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Requirements - Full-time position, typically Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. - Standard hours are generally 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, though schedules may vary based on business needs. - Occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends may be required to support operational demands, special projects, or peak periods. - Flexibility is required to support departmental needs, including high-volume or critical service periods. - Work arrangement may be remote, in-office, or hybrid depending on role requirements and department assignment.
