Lead, People Systems – Payroll, Absence and Time-Tracking

• Configure and maintain Payroll: pay components, earnings and deductions, pay groups, period schedules, and payroll-related business processes • Configure and maintain Absence: time-off plans, accrual rules, eligibility criteria, and leave types • Configure and maintain Time Tracking: time entry templates, validations, work calendars, and overtime calculations • Configure and maintain Core HCM foundations: supervisory organizations, staffing models, job profiles and job/compensation structures, custom organizations, and worker data integrity • Support annual and recurring People cycles in Workday, including compensation reviews, open enrollment configuration, and org restructures (mass supervisory org changes and job catalog updates) • Design, build, and maintain business process definitions in both domains, including condition rules, calculated fields, custom validations, routing and approval logic, and notifications • Partner with the Payroll team to troubleshoot configuration-driven payroll issues, including gross-to-net discrepancies, retro calculations, and off-cycle errors — the Payroll team owns processing; you own the configuration behind it • Bring a strong command of the Workday security model: role-based, user-based, and intersection security groups, domain security policies, business process security policies, and integration system users (ISUs), with sound judgment about when to leverage each as you configure and troubleshoot across domains • Support security and data audits in partnership with the broader team, using Workday delivered and custom audit reports to analyze access patterns, remediate exceptions, and uphold segregation of duties • Perform impact analysis before changes ship, including how HCM and security changes ripple into payroll, absence, and time data
• Map & optimize end-to-end workflows: Lead current- and future-state process mapping across People initiatives to eliminate friction, reduce manual lift, and accelerate execution. • Diagnose root causes: Challenge assumptions and help leaders distinguish whether a bottleneck stems from a process flaw, a systems limitation, or a change management gap. • Establish scalable standards: Define documentation, handoffs, and governance frameworks so teams operate with consistency and low variability as Wealthsimple scales. • Translate needs into technical requirements: Partner with our People Systems team to convert business challenges into actionable specs, identifying where AI agents, LLM tools, or native Workday workflows deliver the highest ROI. • Apply practical AI judgment: Know the right tool for the job—distinguishing when a problem calls for AI leverage, standard automation, or simply process simplification. • Define & track metrics: Establish baseline and target metrics (cycle time, throughput, error rates, cost savings) and build post-launch dashboards to ensure sustained adoption and measurable impact. • Connect systems & data: Collaborate closely with IT, People Systems, and People Analytics to ensure all automations are built on solid data architecture and supported by tight feedback loops. • Facilitate high-stakes alignment: Lead future-state mapping and design workshops across cross-functional groups—keeping discussions focused, driving key decisions, and securing clear ownership. • Lead change management: Drive adoption through clear communication, helping teams clarify roles, build scalable habits, and navigate ambiguity during periods of change. • Elevate AI capabilities: Raise the broader People team’s tech fluency through practical experiments, hands-on learning, and shared tools.
• Join the Operations team, and work directly with our Senior Manager and Team Lead, Securities Lending Operations, Trading Desk, and other Operations Associates to execute on daily securities lending processes • Assist in maintaining positioning by processing returns from counterparties and supporting the loan recall process • Work to ensure timely loan and return settlement, and resolve related issues • Collaborate with traders, product managers, engineering, and other operations teams to ensure effective and timely trade flow and settlement • Communicate with counterparties via email or on calls to execute on loans and recalls, and resolve discrepancies • Identify and resolve discrepancies in transactions • Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of records and assist with audit requests • Support front-office operations related to corporate actions and daily market movement • Support billing and month-end processes • Represent Wealthsimple in interactions with external counterparties and cultivate industry relationships • Support the development of operational procedures as we build out our Options business • Support the treasury team with cash movements, including billing • Support the onboarding of new counterparties

• Dive into the weeds of suspected Account Takeover (ATO) and Identity fraud cases. • Take immediate, decisive action to lock down compromised accounts, stop fraudulent activity, and remediate the situation based on industry best practices. • Communicate directly with clients guiding them through the recovery process with empathy and clarity. • Manage multiple ongoing investigations while maintaining case-closure Service Level Agreements (SLAs). • Participate in weekly calibration sessions to share findings, spot ATO trends, and help the team stay ahead of fraudsters.
• Own the strategy and execution of Business demand generation across paid media, organic, lifecycle, referrals, and more — with a clear focus on lead quality and downstream pipeline impact. • Lead ABM programs targeting high-value segments. Work with Sales to define target accounts, build segment-specific programs, and measure pipeline impact. • Partner closely with Sales and Commercial Ops to align on ICPs, lead definitions, scoring models, routing, and feedback loops. • Build and maintain clear reporting on funnel performance — from first touch through MQL, SQL, and closed deals. • Actively embed AI tools into demand gen workflows — from content and copy production to audience research, outbound enrichment, and campaign experimentation. • Manage and develop one direct report, setting clear goals and creating the conditions for strong performance.
• Own day-to-day execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns (esp. in-app content, email and mobile push), including segmenting target audiences, orchestrating multi-channel journeys, building templates, QA & deploying campaigns, and reporting on performance • Use AI tools (e.g. Claude, Braze's AI features, or similar) to speed up QA, content generation, campaign briefs, and reporting, and help build repeatable AI-powered workflows for the broader lifecycle team • Work with the Growth Engagement product team to continue to improve and grow marketing tooling and build first-of-their-kind client journeys • Ideate & experiment on growth engagement strategies/tactics, including personalization and content variation, to drive client activation, retention, engagement, and cross-sell of users within Wealthsimple's product ecosystem • Analyze campaign and program performance; proactively report on campaign impact, client behaviours, and experimental results/learnings, using AI tools to accelerate analysis and synthesis where useful • Execute and analyze A/B tests to increase campaign performance and conversion rates
