• Understanding the book in form and job budget • Receive client information from Senior Accountant • Breakdown job budget (Compliance 75% and review and collation 25%) • Review current year tax planning, notes, handover notes and current year trust resolution. • Work independently on compliance work and seek assistance and advice as required from the Senior Accountant • Prepare clear and accurate workpapers in line with practice procedures and expectations. • Undertake self-review to ensure work is at the highest possible standard within the job budget. • Attend teams calls with Senior Accountant post job review to discuss and understand review points. • Finalise the job and email back to the senior as a priority after the teams call ends. • Update workflow every time a job is QO, QI, R or finalised. • Maintain organised and accurate client files as per procedures. • Attend weekly workflow meetings and communicate job priorities • Provide general support to senior accountants as required. • Follow instructions and complete tasks within agreed timeframes. • Learning from review points and mistakes to avoid repeating in the future. • Attend training sessions and actively participate in developing technical knowledge.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in accounting or any related course.
  • With at least 5 years of total Australian tax accounting experience.
  • Organisation, planning and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Good attitude to learn and develop.
  • Willingness to ask questions and understand reasons for review points.
  • Ongoing education and training regarding Australian tax requirements and accounting principles
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, ACESS)
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Positive, professional attitude and team-oriented mindset.
  • CPA and/or CA qualification is advantageous.
  • Experience in public practice is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Handi Tax is advantageous.

Role Description The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for the full-cycle accounting and reporting requirements of assigned Stream corporate entities. This position delivers timely and accurate financial reports to reviewers and Stream Partners. Title: Accountant - Senior Location: Madison United States Job Description: Position Summary This position will interpret and analyze complex financial data, reconcile agency accounts, and complete the Comprehensive Annual Fiscal Report. The incumbent will provide technical advice and oversight related to fund operations. The position reviews and analyzes current financial systems, processes, procedures, and policy to ensure proper fiscal control and compliance with rules and regulations. This includes participating in the development of policies and procedures as well as reporting to ensure balance sheet accounts, projects, assets, and all fiscal transactions are being recorded correctly in the accounting system. The incumbent develops and applies complex expense and revenue allocation methodologies impacting appropriations and across several funds. The position also monitors and reconciles payroll adjusting entries between the HR and Finance modules in the state accounting software.
