Role Description The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s general accounting operations, financial reporting processes, and month-end close activities. This role manages accounting staff, ensures compliance with GAAP and internal controls, and supports the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical capabilities, and experience improving accounting processes. Primary Responsibilities - Manage a team and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. - Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. - Review and approve account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules. - Prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements and variance reports. - Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls. - Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff to support team performance and professional growth. - Partner with FP&A, tax, payroll, treasury, and operational teams on financial reporting and business initiatives. - Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and increased efficiency within accounting operations. - Support ERP system implementations, upgrades, and process optimization projects. - Assist with technical accounting research and preparation of accounting memos as needed. - Assist Corporate Controller with research and resolution of questions. - Complete other ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline is required or relevant experience. - CPA certification preferred. - 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or management experience. - Commercial Real Estate or other service industry experience is preferred. - In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). - Advanced knowledge of Excel with the ability to work with a large volume of data in spreadsheets, with knowledge of formulas and advanced functions, like pivot tables is required. - Experience leading a team is strongly preferred. - Experience with ERP systems such as Yardi and Workday is a plus. - Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality. - Ability to read and analyze financial reports. - High attention to detail with excellent oral and written communication skills. - Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. - Desire to work in a cooperative, productive, team-driven atmosphere and an ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Role Description The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for the full-cycle accounting and reporting requirements of assigned Stream corporate entities. This position delivers timely and accurate financial reports to reviewers and Stream Partners. Additionally, the role assists Corporate Accounting leadership with various tasks and ad-hoc requests throughout the month. Primary Responsibilities - Responsible for the month-end close including review and preparation of journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations. - Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules. - Prepare balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items. - Calculate division leader bonuses as required. - Review commission billing and receipt information to calculate payroll accruals. - Collaborate with FP&A, operations, payroll, and other departments on financial reporting matters. - Review A/P invoices, post payment batches, and electronic payment activity. - Prepare and post customer billings and review and approve cash receipts. - Maintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. - Special reporting and analytical or Ad Hoc projects as needed or requested. - Respond to questions from local offices timely and effectively. Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field required or relevant experience. - Full-cycle accounting experience required. - 4+ years of relevant accounting (public or industry) experience required. - Independent ability to do calculations and book entries required. - Knowledge of GAAP required. - Knowledge of payroll and compensation. - Commercial real estate industry or other service industry experience preferred. - Ability to review contracts and identify bonus terms and conditions preferred. - Proficiency in MS Excel required. - Yardi or Workday accounting software is preferred. - Exemplary written and verbal communication skills; Ability to communicate with partners and internal/external customers required. - High attention to detail and the ability to work with a large amount of financial data are required. - Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality required. - A positive, proactive attitude; must be resourceful. - Desire to work in a cooperative, productive teamwork environment and willingness to share information with co-workers as appropriate. Include supervisor or manager on complex or advanced issues. - Support the budgeting process and expense reconciliation preparation review of data at a basic/intermediate level with limited direction from the manager. - Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports and analyses with limited direction from the manager. - Act as an internal and external customer service leader and assist the supervisor/manager with more complex issues. - Share knowledge with team members and act as a resource to Property Accountants. - Prepare and submit Sales & Use Tax returns, as applicable. - Manage and review the cash accounts of each project/property; Ensure critical, timely payment of utilities, taxes, mortgages, and owner distributions. - Review and post cash receipts as needed. - Review payables. Process vendor invoices for payment as needed. - Ensure compliance with SOC I requirements. - Other projects and duties as assigned.
