Job Description
Staff Technical Security Marketer
Huntress
Reports to: Sr. Director, Adversary Tactics Location: Remote US Compensation: $180,000 to $200,000 base salary plus bonus and equity What We Do: Cybercrime is growing, and more businesses are getting hit by threats that used to target only the biggest organizations. That pushes defenders like us to operate at the highest level, and it deepens our need for good people who want to make a meaningful impact. Founded in 2015 by former NSA cyber operators, Huntress is a remote-first team working to make enterprise-grade cybersecurity accessible to businesses of all sizes. We work closely with security teams and service providers protecting complex environments, often without the time or headcount to handle it all. That’s why we build our technology in-house and back it with a 24/7 human-led Security Operations Center (SOC). As a result, our platform is never disconnected from the experts who manage it, ensuring our customers' protection. Huntress now secures more than 5M endpoints and 11M identities worldwide. Those numbers keep growing because more businesses rely on us to help carry the load and operate with more confidence. Every day, you can see that commitment in how we stand with our customers and how we show up for each other. What You'll DoThe Huntress Security Team wakes up every morning knowing we make hackers regret targeting our partners and customers. As a Staff Technical Security Marketer, you are the technical conscience of our marketing engine. You will sit at the intersection of deep security research and community education, ensuring that every piece of content we ship is both technically bulletproof and impossible to ignore. You will act as a force multiplier for our mission by taking raw intelligence from our researchers and turning it into high-impact narratives that help the community stay ahead of emerging threats. In this role, you will give more than you take by delivering extreme value to the community through free, educational content that builds lasting trust. You will exercise candor to ensure our messaging remains authentic and free of corporate fluff, keeping our voice grounded in reality. Because the threat landscape moves fast, you will embrace perfect imperfection - iterating quickly on technical findings to get accurate, actionable information into the hands of practitioners while it matters most. Responsibilities - Partner with security researchers and detection engineers to translate complex security research into clear, compelling stories. - Review and edit marketing assets to ensure technical accuracy and maintain the gritty, practitioner-focused Huntress voice. - Work cross-functionally with product and security teams to build accurate assets that reflect our latest defensive innovations. - Identify marketing campaign opportunities based on technical content and emerging threats found by our security team. - Support social media and marketing teams by building messaging that accurately reflects deep technical research. - Bridge the gap between technical SMEs and diverse audiences, from frontline analysts to executive buyers. - Supporting efforts for releasing Threat Reports from the Adversary Tactics and adjacent security teams. - Support Rapid Response and Threat Report efforts from the Adversary Tactics team. What You Bring to the Team - 6+ years of experience in the cybersecurity space, ideally within a SOC or threat intelligence environment. - Deep knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and the ability to explain them without relying on jargon. - Proven ability to distill high-level technical research into accessible, action-oriented content for the community. - A genuine passion for following current events in the cybersecurity space and a pulse on the latest adversary trends. - Experience using AI as a tool to speed up workflows while remaining sharp about its limitations and downsides. - A collaborative mindset that thrives when working with subject matter experts to find the best way to tell a story. What We Offer: - 100% remote work environment - since our founding in 2015 - Generous paid time off policy, including vacation, sick time, and paid holidays - 12 weeks of paid parental leave - Highly competitive and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits plans - 401(k) with a 5% contribution regardless of employee contribution - Life and Disability insurance plans - Stock options for all full-time employees - One-time $500 reimbursement for building/upgrading home office - Annual allowance for education and professional development assistance - $75 USD/month digital reimbursement - Access to the BetterUp platform for coaching, personal, and professional growth Huntress is committed to creating a culture of inclusivity where every single member of our team is valued, has a voice, and is empowered to come to work every day just as they are. We do not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, color, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status, genetic information, marital status, or any other legally protected status. We do discriminate against hackers who try to exploit businesses of all sizes. Role Description Our client is a US-based private real estate investment firm operating within a diversified holding group. They market institutional-grade real estate and private credit opportunities to high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and self-directed accredited investors — a sophisticated audience that responds to trust, depth, and credibility, not consumer-style marketing. They are hiring a Marketing Manager to own digital marketing execution across SEO, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), content optimization, and social media. This is an execution-led role, not a strategy-led one. The Marketing Director already has the overarching strategy in place and is genuinely invested in mentoring the right candidate into greater ownership over time. You bring strong execution skills, a self-starter mindset, and curiosity. You will work alongside an outsourced technical SEO partner who handles the technical side of the stack. Your focus is on-page SEO, content optimization, AEO initiatives, and social media execution across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. You will use Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Moz to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and report what's working. Social scheduling currently runs through Feedbird, with openness to improvements you recommend. The work matters because the audience is sophisticated. Content that ranks for "best high-yield real estate fund" but reads like generic SEO copy gets dismissed in the first sentence. Featured Snippets that win the click but mislead the visitor erode trust the firm has spent years building. The hire who succeeds here treats SEO and AEO as trust-building work, not just traffic work — and brings craft to every piece of content and every social post. In your first 90 days, you will build on the existing keyword strategy with at least one new SEO/AEO-optimized content cluster, optimize priority pages for Featured Snippets and AI answer engines, tighten the social cadence across the four platforms, and deliver a written read on what's working and what to test next using Google Search Console and SEMrush data. Qualifications - 3+ years of experience in digital marketing, SEO, content marketing, or social media management - Strong understanding of on-page SEO and content optimization, with hands-on (not delegated) experience - Working knowledge of AEO concepts, including Featured Snippet optimization, AI-driven search trends, and conversational / voice search - Hands-on experience with Google Search Console, SEMrush, or Moz within the last 12 months - Experience managing business social media across at least two of Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, or YouTube - Strong written English with attention to detail - Comfortable executing independently while staying closely aligned with leadership - Eager to learn, adaptable, and growth-oriented Requirements - Execute and optimize on-page SEO and content optimization initiatives - Build on existing keyword strategies and content clusters - Support and coordinate with outsourced technical SEO partners - Optimize content for AEO, including Google Featured Snippets, AI-driven search experiences (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity), and voice / conversational search - Use Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Moz to monitor performance and identify opportunities - Update and optimize existing content to improve rankings, engagement, and conversions - Create and optimize new content where needed - Repurpose existing content across channels - Ensure content aligns with SEO and AEO best practices - Coordinate closely with the Marketing Director on content priorities and messaging - Execute social media strategy across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube - Manage content creation, scheduling, and posting (currently via Feedbird) - Improve content quality and consistency across platforms - Monitor engagement and performance and recommend optimizations - Bring strategic input while primarily owning execution - Work closely with the Marketing Director and internal stakeholders - Be receptive to feedback and training while progressively taking ownership - Contribute ideas to improve performance across channels - Operate with a proactive, self-starter mindset Benefits - 100% remote, full-time role with a US-based client team - Compensation up to $10/hr - Direct mentorship from a Marketing Director with a defined strategy and a real interest in developing the right hire - A clear growth path into broader scope and greater ownership over time - The chance to do meaningful work for a firm whose audience pays close attention to quality
