Creative Strategist

Lume Deodorant

Title: Creative Strategist Location: New York, NY Job Description: About Lume and Mando Founded in 2017, Lume is a transformative personal care brand on a mission to normalize body odor beyond pits and provide people with outrageously effective solutions so they don’t have to think twice about odor. We are pioneers of the whole body deodorant category, with a portfolio of odor-blocking products including anti-perspirants, aluminum-free deodorants, body washes, body creams, cleansing bars and laundry sprays. Lume products are OB/GYN developed, made with skin-safe ingredients that are gentle enough for the most sensitive parts and often referred to as “life-changing” by our customers. In late 2022, we launched a men’s line called Mando, bringing our expertise to the men’s personal care category. From whole body deodorants to body washes, our product offerings arm men with the confidence to show up as their best selves as they move about their busy day. Lume and Mando are part of Mammoth Brands, the modern CPG company behind category-leading brands Harry’s, Flamingo, Lume, Mando, and Coterie. Driven by a mission to “Create Things People Like More,” the company is creating a new model—and home—for brands, founders, and talent looking to solve unmet needs, improve peoples’ lives and ultimately change the status quo. Even as we grow, we take extra care to maintain the small, scrappy, entrepreneurial culture that helped to get us where we are today: a company that people like more, that better serves its customers, employees, and community. Mammoth Brands is committed to making a positive impact and donated over $20 million through our network of nonprofit partners to date. About the Role We're looking for a sharp, versatile Creative Strategist to take the reins on Mando. This isn't a support role. You'll own the creative end-to-end across most of our Mando ad formats: concepting, briefing, creator ops, and final sign-off. You'll be on a team working alongside some of the most talented senior creative minds in the industry, who will be in your corner as a sounding board and partner. The seat is set up so you grow fast, own real outcomes early, and learn from someone exceptional while doing it. What You'll Do - Own Mando creative across Stills, B-Roll, and Partnership/UGC ads. You lead concepting, briefing, and sign-off. Our senior strategist supports and pressure-tests. - Partner with our senior strategist on TV spots, supporting on agency selection and co-leading creative review. - Run all creator operations for Mando partnership and UGC work: sourcing, briefing, contracting, payment, whitelisting, the whole pipeline. - Develop original ad ideas. Hooks, concepts, scripts. Bring them to the senior strategist for feedback and sharpen from there. - Recut and remix existing ads quickly to generate high-volume creative iterations. Fast turnarounds are a superpower here. - Collaborate with video editors to turn existing footage into fresh ad concepts. Brief clearly and review with a strong creative eye. - Cut and produce ads yourself when needed. You won't always have a dedicated editor and that's okay. - Pick up new tools fast. AI creative platforms, editing software, growth analytics. Get fluent quickly. - Stay close to the customer. Watch ads, read comments, study reviews, and use those insights to inform every creative decision. Who You Are - A rare blend of creative and technical. You have genuine taste AND you can execute. - Ready to own a brand. You've been the right hand long enough to know what good looks like, and you're hungry to drive the call. - Obsessed with the customer. You think about who you're talking to before you think about what you want to say. - A "whatever it takes" operator who doesn't wait to be told what to do and finds a way to get things done. - Fast. You move quickly without sacrificing quality, and you know the difference. - Energized by AI and new tools. You're not intimidated by new platforms. You're excited to figure them out. - Comfortable with ambiguity. You can start from a rough brief, a pile of footage, or just a problem to solve. - A strong communicator who can take creative feedback, apply it, and build on it. What You Bring - 3 to 5 years of experience in creative strategy, content production, performance marketing, or a related field. - A track record of owning creative for a brand or product line, not just contributing to it. - Hands-on experience editing video (Premiere, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar). - Solid direct-response or performance advertising chops. You understand what makes an ad convert, not just look good. - Experience running creator operations end-to-end (sourcing, briefing, contracting, whitelisting) is a strong plus. - Familiarity with AI creative tools (e.g., AdCreative.ai, Midjourney, Runway, or similar) is a strong plus. - Portfolio or work samples showing creative range. Concepts, scripts, edits, anything that shows how you think and what you make. Why This Role You'll be the core creative mind behind all growth creative for the Mando brand. Make the calls, see what works, get better fast. Mando is a $50M+ challenger brand going up against a category that's been running the same Old Spice playbook for decades. The world's first high-performing whole body deodorant built for men. pH-optimized to block odor before it starts, not cover it up. Clinically proven. 72-hour odor control, head to toe. You'll be doing it sitting next to some of the sharpest creative minds in the industry, with a real shot to learn from people who are exceptional at this. If you want to take the wheel on a brand millions of people use, come talk to us. Benefits and perks - Medical, dental, and vision coverage - 401k match - Equity in Mammoth Brands - Flexible time off and working hours - L&D stipend - 4 weeks sabbatical after 5 years, 6 weeks after 10 years, and 8 weeks after 15 years - 20 fully paid weeks off for parents who give birth, or 16 fully paid weeks off for all other paths to parenthood - Fun IRL and virtual events including happy hours, team building events, and parties on our rooftop - Free products from our family of brands The Mammoth Brands' working model is in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Our beautiful 70,000 square foot SoHo office is decked out with bagels on Wednesdays and lunch on Thursdays, and fully stocked kitchens with snacks, coffee, and drinks everyday. Can’t forget the free products and the opportunity to have some meetings without Zoom! We can’t quantify all of the intangible things we think you’ll love about working at Mammoth Brands, like the exciting challenges we tackle, the smart and humble team you’ll get to work with, and our supportive and inclusive culture. That said, our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total rewards package, which also includes a comprehensive set of benefits and our equity program. The base salary hiring range for this position is $120,400-$150,500, but the final compensation offer will ultimately be based on the candidate’s location, skill level and experience. Mammoth Brands is committed to bringing together individuals from different backgrounds and perspectives. We strive to create an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive, feel a sense of belonging, and do great work together. Mammoth Brands is an Equal Opportunity Employer, providing equal employment and advancement opportunities to all individuals. We recruit, hire and promote into all job levels the most qualified applicants without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, religion, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth and related medical conditions), parental status, age, disability, genetic information, citizenship status, veteran status, gender identity or expression, transgender status, sexual orientation, marital, family or partnership status, political affiliation or activities, military service, domestic violence victim status, arrest/conviction record, sexual or reproductive health decisions, caregiver status, credit history immigration status, unemployment status, traits historically associated with race, including but not limited to hair texture and protective hairstyles or any other status protected under applicable federal, state and local laws.
