As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the DevOps team reporting to the Director of Pipeline and Platform Engineering, you will support projects at the forefront of hospitality technology progress. - Architect next‑generation cloud platforms and automation solutions. - Devise and evolve code‑driven automation strategies that ensure environment consistency across development, testing, and production. - Build long‑term automation solutions using scripting and programming (Groovy, Shell, Python, Terraform, or Java/JavaScript). - Provide technical leadership and implementation guidance for UI, APIs, and microservices. - Work with development teams to guide best practices, design patterns, and operational standards. - Understand new architectural concepts and recommend improvements from an infrastructure and security perspective. - Support reliability engineering efforts and participate in on‑call rotations for mission-critical & revenue‑impacting cloud services. Deliverables you'll take ownership of: - Design and implement enterprise DevOps architectures, reference patterns, and tooling strategies. - Implement and maintain CI/CD tools and pipelines across the organization (GitLab preferred). - Enable seamless, secure, and available software builds and deployments across Agile teams. - Configure, tune, deploy, and operate Kubernetes clusters (EKS preferred). - Maintain containerized applications with Docker or similar technologies. Qualifications - Five (5) years of experience in Technology or a related field. - Four (4) years with CI tools such as GitLab (preferred), or Bamboo. - Four (4) years architecting and developing automation to support Continuous Delivery. - Three (3) years administering Kubernetes. - Three (3) years on AWS cloud platforms. - Proficiency in scripting/programming in Bash. - Experience supporting reliability efforts, on‑call rotations. - Travel up to 10%. Requirements - Bachelor's degree OR Associate's + 6 years tech experience OR HS/GED + 12 years tech experience. - Seven (7)+ years of technology experience. - Five (5) years of CI tool experience (GitLab or Bamboo), Cloud and Kubernetes platforms. - One (1) year of management experience. - Scripting experience in Python or Terraform. Role Description We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to support and scale our cloud and infrastructure operations across AWS and Azure. The ideal candidate is hands-on with configuration management, infrastructure as code, automation, and scripting across Windows and Linux environments, and brings DevOps and infrastructure delivery experience. - Operate and improve cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure, ensuring availability, performance, and security. - Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and configuration management tools (Chef or equivalent). - Develop automation and tooling using PowerShell, Bash, and Python. - Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices using Azure DevOps. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Linux and Windows systems. - Support infrastructure lifecycle activities: provisioning, patching, monitoring, and optimization. - Collaborate with engineering teams to improve reliability and operational efficiency. Qualifications - Experience with configuration management (Chef preferred; Puppet/Ansible acceptable). - Experience with AWS architecture and Azure services. - Experience with Azure DevOps (pipelines, repos, boards). - Scripting knowledge in PowerShell and Bash; Python for automation. - Infrastructure as Code using Terraform. - Background in DevOps and infrastructure operations. - Experience managing both Linux and Windows environments. - Ability to troubleshoot and automate operational workflows. - Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, ELK, Prometheus). - Experience with security best practices and compliance in cloud environments. - Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in a business environment. • Drive stability and scalability across our global compute platform spanning numerous data centers, multiple public clouds, and on-premise environments, serving as the foundation for every product • Operate and evolve our GitOps delivery model, using Rancher Fleet and Flux with Helm to deploy core cluster services and application workloads declaratively and repeatably • Build self-healing, fault-tolerant infrastructure and internal tooling that eliminates repetitive operational work and reduces toil for both platform and application teams • Own cluster autoscaling and capacity strategy, including Karpenter, HPA and KEDA, and predictive scaling driven by event and calendar data • Define SLOs and reliability metrics for platform components, using Datadog and our logging pipeline to surface cluster and workload health • Support technical growth by sharing knowledge, participating in design discussions, and contributing to a collaborative team culture, including on-call rotation
