Fertility Genetic Counselor

Role Description This is a full-time, remote role for a Fertility Genetic Counselor. Preference will be given to applicants who are already ABGC certified. The Fertility Genetic Counselor will be responsible for: - Providing individualized guidance on genetic testing and interpretation. - Counseling patients and families on genetic risk. - Collaborating with healthcare providers. - Reviewing patient histories. - Coordinating genetic tests. - Analyzing test results. - Conducting patient consultations. - Providing comprehensive genetic counseling for fertility and preconception cases, including: - Expanded carrier screening counseling. - Donor match consults. - Donor embryo reviews. - Pre- and post-PGT consults. - Coordination of family studies genetic testing. - Providing additional coverage of prenatal care if needed. - Collaborating with other healthcare professionals. - Conducting ongoing research in the field of genetics. Role Description - Laboratory molecular and genetic testing clinical case review activities. - Evaluate telephone, fax, or web requests for authorization of coverage of molecular and genetic laboratory requests from physician offices; comparing requests against established clinical protocols; and authorizing coverage of services or referring requests for expert clinical review as appropriate. - Be available as an expert advisor for physicians and labs on the appropriate use of genetic testing, including new and cutting-edge tests entering the market. Qualifications - Master’s degree in genetic counseling. - Board certified American Board of Genetic Counseling or American Board of Medical Genetics. - Licensure (if available) in state of residence. - 2+ years of experience as a Genetic Counselor. - Experience with computer data entry, customer service, and managed care beneficial.
