Role Description Woolpert is hiring a Senior Project Architect to join our dynamic Architecture team in our Charlotte, NC office. This position reports to the Architectural Team Leader and is responsible for contributing to multiple project types across the region and across the nation. Project types include lower/higher educational facilities, data centers, and other public or private market developments. What You Will Do: - Drive project execution, along with the project manager, working closely with clients, consultants, team members, and other project contributors. - Guide and manage a team of architects, engineers, and production staff to deliver innovative projects that exceed client expectations. - Lead research into relevant code, materials and systems, and client-specific prompts, leveraging derived insights to create unique and innovative design solutions. - Develop thoughtful technical solutions and manage the delivery of clear and concise project documentation. - Seek opportunities to contribute to design excellence by playing an active role in a collaborative design process. - Participate in the conceptual design of projects and provide full support through the entire project life cycle. - Develop and represent lead technical viewpoint on projects. - Review completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations. - Prepare graphics, presentations, contract drawings, and regulatory submissions. - Organize and maintain project record information and drawings. - Coordinate with clients, project consultants, and engineers. - Plan and supervise design and/or technical work of less senior architects and technicians. Qualifications - Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the design of architectural projects. - Bachelor’s degree in architecture; master’s degree a plus. - Architectural License or NCARB certification required; LEED accreditation preferred. - Proficient in Revit and Bluebeam with advanced-level competency in Microsoft Office Suite. - Ability to apply architectural principles to buildings/structures and their components or assemblies. - Ability to handle designing and drafting assignments including site plans, floor plans, elevations, and sections required. - Self-motivated to meet deadlines and improve process and deliverables. - Excellent communication skills required. - Ability to write reports and specifications required. • Serve as the primary technical authority for CPQ and Quote-to-Cash initiatives, representing Zaelab in client-facing architectural discussions, solution reviews, and technical decision-making. • Act as a subject matter expert in Quote-to-Cash processes, including product modeling, pricing strategies, discounting, approvals, contracts, and downstream order fulfillment. Lead architecture and functional design of custom product configurators, including technologies such as Logik.ai (ServiceNow). Translate complex revenue models into scalable CPQ architectures aligned with platform best practices. • Design scalable and secure architectures that integrate with commerce platforms, ERP systems, CDPs, middleware, and adjacent enterprise systems. Collaborate with clients and internal teams to create prototypes and proofs of concept to validate requirements and solution approaches. • Conduct business and technical discovery, assessing current-state revenue systems and defining future-state CPQ roadmaps. Lead business process mapping sessions and produce functional and architectural documentation. Perform gap analysis and identify opportunities to optimize business processes through CPQ and commerce capabilities. • Maintain a hands-on approach to solution delivery, contributing to configuration, development, and technical problem-solving alongside the team. Partner closely with developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and efficiently. Troubleshoot complex functional and technical issues, identifying root causes and driving resolution. • Troubleshoot complex technical issues, ensuring consistent delivery momentum and high-quality outcomes. • Mentor consultants, developers, and analysts on CPQ architecture patterns, platform capabilities, and delivery best practices. Coach teams on balancing functional requirements with technical feasibility and long-term maintainability. Set quality standards for CPQ design, documentation, and delivery execution. • Partner with Solution Engineering and Sales teams to scope engagements, propose architecture approaches, and communicate solution value to B2B clients. Build trusted relationships with client sponsors and stakeholders, guiding strategic decision-making. Clearly articulate CPQ solution value to technical and non-technical audiences. • Contribute to Zaelab accelerators, templates, and repeatable CPQ implementation patterns. Stay current with CPQ, commerce, and platform trends, sharing insights internally and externally. Participate in internal enablement, client workshops, and industry/community forums.
